You have to buy and install the tether. Well worth the small expense and time.

So I dont want to make this a tether no tether thread but I dont see the point in a tether. I had one on my REV and used it for the first half of when I owned it. What I found was that when I had my tether connected and fell off on a hill the machine would shut down but then it took off down the hill like a bat out of hell. Good thing there was nothing in the way on the hill. The next time it happend I did not have the tether connected and fell off the sled the machines engine kept the sled at a nice slow pace all the way down to the bottom. So for me I would rather have the sled go down slowly then as fast as can be. I know throttles can stick and things can happen but i figure that is what insurrance is for I guess.

Understood, in my experiences we have had 2 guys break there steering post in our group. One had a tether and one didn't. Both happened near the top of a climb and the one that didn't have the tether went all the way to the bottom with at least half throttle due to the bars hanging. Just one example of why I run them, others have better reasons i'm sure. Nice dismount.:second:
