Video Editing

I have been packing my video camera sledding lately. I am getting some good video footage of me and my buddies sledding. I would like to take my footage a step further. Edit it, maybe add some music, and burn to a disc to give to my friends. Wouldnt mind sharing some on Utube as I know everybody loves a bit of sled ****.

What program do you use? Any tips or advice when looking into this.

I highly recommend adobe premier elements. Most professional type software for 100 w/ photoshop elements. It is a little overwhelming at first, but I really like it. Used movie maker, but that is retarded, wrong format, tried pinnacle, was also retarded, slow, buggy.

With dual monitors it is nice.

Dont forget you can download free trials of just about any program out there. I think I'm going to try the adobe program out first myself. I believe the trials are for one month.

note that if you do decide to buy it, that you should uninstall the trial version before you install the real version.

also, I am not sure if it allows you to author (create) dvd's in the demo version

i use the windows movie maker.. its super easy.. not that it looks that great but, it is super easy!!! might want to start with it....

if you want to create a dvd, do not use movie maker. The avi it creates is a type 1 and everything else in the world uses type 2. Therefore, when you import the files, they need to be converted to type 2 before you can use them with any other program. Not sure if a stand alone dvd authoring program can do it or not. Just know that I had a big headache when switching from movie maker to priemer elements.
