Video clip from McCall ride yesterday.

Thanks... That video was taken yesterday 1/18 around 2pm. We've gotten around 2 feet more since then! I'll take some more video when I ride tomorrow. Hard to believe that my tracks from yesterday will be all but be gone for tomorrows ride!

mccall

Will see ya up there tomorrow. A bunch of us are taking off work to come and play. That reminds me of last year starting the end of Jan. It seemed that every weekend we had 3-4 feet of fresh pow. Going to be a crazy day.

Great clips

What a day. We've all been dreaming of a day like that all year long and now it's finally here. Thanks for the vid. I cant wait to do some powder diving.

It's ALIIIIIIIIVE! I am good for Wed. Rode a whole half mile today, first of the year. Gonna be SORE tomorrow, lol.

We're driving to McCall today from Tahoe. Not enough snow around here.

Were do you guys recommend we ride? Anyone want to show us the area? I'll pay for gas and food.

When you riding? I am doing a shake down run on my "new" sled with dude on Wed., if all is good I can ride any other days after.
Most people ride out of the big lot at the end of the lake, I have never done that myself. From what I am told it can be a rough trail up. Easiest way in my opinion to get to the snow is 2 miles up Warren Wagon, the Green Gate parking lot. Most cars/trucks I have ever seen there is 2 or 3. 6 or 7 mile ride up a groomed trail and you can dive off anywhere into the deep. Or keep on the trail system to the Brundage reservoir area or towards the parking lot at the end of the lake. From Brundage res area you can get out to Blacktip and all the other areas. Dude can comment on riding out of the upper Brundage lot, it puts you closer to the stuff on the West side of Brundage and the reservoir. One thing I like about the West side of Brundage trail system is the nice groomed trails, but good fun stuff just a couple feet off the sides of the trails, you can (I have) ridden for days just in a small area and never hit the same stuff twice, close to home, and close to a trail if you have less experienced riders or a problem with a sled. They do SUCH a good job with grooming, you are always a short zip away on a smooth trail from a completely different area.

We'll be doing the shake downs as well. We both have new sleds that need break in miles. We'll be taking it easy on Wednesday and then hope to find the deeper snow Thursday - Saturday.

For shake downs I'd find the grooming schedule and go for smooth. Also note without knowing who you are and what you are capable of...conditions are flat out SCARY. USE CAUTION (we've been really fortunate so far that it's so deep most can't make much progress and it's kept the masses relatively safe in McCall)

To quote Phil "if you look at the hill it will slide"

Here is a little poem in that honor......

Look away
Stay away
Live to play another day!

"getting dead must hurt....and I have a low pain thresh hold" some smart guy

The two of us are both good riders. We'll be avoiding all of the avi areas.

Great poem.
