VForce 3R VS Boyesen Reeds

I would change them for sure. I think that one they start to get damaged it leaves a little lip that holds up the other reeds.

Are the 800 HO Throttle body adpater/manifold and the current 11-15 CFI-2 TB adapter the same part except for the 800 HO having the stuffer molded into the adapter/manifold? Are the mounting angles & throttle body position the same between the 2?

Looking at the Fiche I would say no.

Non-800 Axys

Would the boyesen super stock reed petal replacements work for my set up or should I dish out the money for the stock full cages? I really appreciate everyone's help here.

Cheers
Shawn

You turbo guys put these reeds to the test so what is your opinion of why they fail?

I'm on my 3rd set in 3 yrs with NA sled. All the pics seem to be close. Is it length of time at WO and lack of reed stop? I looked to the turbo direction after the first set but could not find reed stops for stock from the aftermarket.
My reeds always come out soaked in oil, have rubber sealing surface and have been OEM. Only thing I could think of was tips hitting the cases or some really weird harmonic thing.

This time is VR3 with stops. Think the reed issue is over?

From what I see they are just too long. If you look at my post with the two of them you will see the outside petals being shorter on the VForce. I have heard of guys cutting down Boyesen but IMO I would just buy the Vforce Part# V3132R-873F-2 and be done.

I'm a little confused here because the set V-force 3R's we just installed, we had to use the gaskets? But looking at the pics AK posted, I don't remember them having that lip on the flange of the housing where it would mate to the engine. And I hated having to install the gaskets.

George, you are correct. The NA's are eating reeds in the same amount of time/use that the turbo's are. Interesting phenomenon going on that never occurred in the CFI-4 engines (stock reeds, NA). Too bad Polaris couldn't have figured out the injector overlap and runnability issues.

Hoping the 3R's are the ticket.

I do apologize as this post was meant as a comparison of the petals/build. The ones I purchased are made for the Polaris HO engine and are different than the ones you would buy for a 11-15 non HO. The differences are the )-ring/Gasket and Air defectors.
