Ves gold vs ves premium

Hey guys

Dealership filled up my oil tank with ves premium oil and added some in my gas tank on my pro rmk.

I just realised last night while riding however, bought a ****load of ves gold oil already.

Do i actually need to empty my gas tank and oil tank or i can just keep adding up ves gold oil as i go forward? If so, does mixing these 2 together can create some issues ?

Thx

Most will just advise to run it low, then top off with new. Some will say to drain it all down.

My tank on new sled has a few inches of polaris oil in it from dealer prep. Im just going to top off with the arctic blue synthetic that im going to run

i have been told that the polaris oils are compatible, so no need to drain the other oil. i believe the premium (blue?) is better for seating the rings, but i really don't know for sure. i'm sure others will chime in on this.

YThe last new sleds our group got. 14RMK. 15 ASSAULT, and 16 Pro S all came with blue in the oil tank. Told for break in, along with oil mixed in first tank of gas. Then run it down till about oil light comes on, then fill with gold oil. Polaris oils are compatible, when you read about not mixing oils, they are generally referring to across brands. No need to empty oil tank to change over to polaris gold.

A dealer in Anchorage told my son that if they didn't drain the Blue, purge the system, and refill it with Gold that should he have any engine problems the warranty would be void because the correct oil (Gold) wasn't run for breakin. !!!!!!!!

My son had to take it to Dealer X in Anchorage for an e-start problem. He bought the 2017 Pro RMK 800 155 from Murita Sea n Ski which abruptly closed up.

Friggin dealers all just make up their own ****. Wonder why they wouldn't all have the same oil on them for breakin. Bristows in St Cloud said Blue tben switch when the level went down.

So I just called Polaris help line. They said go by what is in the owners manual for break in and use afterwards. They don't have complete control over what dealers recommend for oil use. But that if there is a warranty issue, if your using what they (dealer) recommend, that Polaris should honor the warranty since the question being asked by polaris on warranty work is "is the customer using the proper oil" So if your using what the dealership recommends it should be approved. By the same token, if your using what the owners manual recommends, and you point that out to service guy. It should be okay.

.

So to OP, you may want to check your owners manual, if it differs from whats in your sled from the dealer. It'd up to you which way you'd want to go. If you do google search it seems alot of folks say dino oil for break in then switch to synthetic. Polaris premium (blue) is semi-syn mix. My owners manual says gold for break in, but it was blue from dealer. So you'll have to get all the input you can from guys you trust their opinion. Or believe that the engineers at Polaris know what they are talking about. Or if your dealer seems to be a stand up place, go with their recommendation. GOOD LUCK,

Oil is oil, I mean I know some guys who use what ever oil that they can find cheap maybe different everytime they buy some. They just add to the oil tank and go with no ill effects.
Sure some oils have more detergents in them to prevent residue build up ans what not but what I'm getting at is as lond as the oil pump is pumping oil you will be 100% ok with most brands of oil.

p.s I run Blue Marble in my sleds some don't like it but I sure do !!

Anchorage Cycle Center charged my son $146 to drain the oil (1/4 Blue 3/4 Gold)that was in the tank and refill it with Polaris Gold. They said they threw the "old" oil away and if they had know that my son wanted it they would have kept it.

I'd bet $1,000 that his "old" oil is sitting in a container in the shop somewhere.

Murita Sean n Ski closed down. One would have thought this is an ideal time for ANchorage Cycle Center to take care of a potentially new customer and have him spread the word about the service there.

That is NOT going to happen!

I have mixed blue and gold in the oil tank of many of my sleds. Have never had a problem. Used a hose to syphon what I could out of the tank of one type than just poured the other in. Have always been told all Polaris oils are compatible with each other.
