Vents with no prefilter material

Is anyone running a set of vents, side panel or otherwise, that don't have prefilter material?

I ordered a set that don't have this and I am sort of reluctant to put them on because of this.

So I thought I would see if anyone on here is running vents like this and if they have had problems with them due to the lack of prefilter material.

The vents basically have like ... "garden screen" or something for the screen material, it pretty well looks like something you'd enclose a porch in to keep bugs out or something ... nylon screen material or something, but no prefilter material ..

Let me know what you all think, thanks.

You should be fine on the exhaust side, but I'd want the prefilter on the clutch side. Kind of wierd that a company selling these would not have the prefilter.

I run the 2 cool vents and they work great. They aren't prefilter material or screen exactly, kinda in between. The fire n ice ones are a little porous for the clutch side IMO.

I have JC's VENTS on my 2005 REV opn both side panels. No prefilter on either but they do have a fine mesh.

Never had any problems getting snow in no matter how much pow I am in.

I made a sidepanel vent for my 09 d8 on the clutch side, I did not put prefilter mat just used pet screen from home depot and the first ride out in dry fluffy snow I laid it over to the left side and filled the clutch compartment with snow. It filled so much the belt instantly slipped, I had to stop and dig all the snow out. Needless to say I had to remake the sidpanel vent with prefilter mat underneeth, the vent I made looked identical to 2-cool vents if that helps.

who are they from?

for side vents i have fastlanes, my brother has 2 cool, and my buddy has the ones from mountain magic in preston and none of them have prefilter material and we've never had problems. they are all different material but all of them have finer screen than the pet screen stuff. i'd have ta say just lookin at them the 2 cools look to be the most open but still no snow in the clutches. however i do have a hood vent on the center of my hood from XXXmodrods and it tends to let a bit of snow through on the fluffy days.

I yanked all the prefilter on my vents and lined them with pet screen. I swear the prefilter was holding in moisture/steam. Some snow always makes it in and that steam can make for trouble.
