vent material

does any one know where i can get in bulk, the vent material flow right uses for there vents. i would like to put it in some places that standard vents they sell will not fit. existing holes in chassis and, the length of the air box where it was modified.

just call SLP or any of the companies that make vents. they'll sell you bulk. they sold me some anyway.

where ever they sell flo rites, they should be able to get the filter material. SLP sells it in a few different sheet sizes, i bought an 18" by 18" piece for like $40 or something close to it from a Yamaha dealer.

if it doesnt have to be that tight a weave, get some pet proof screen from home depot or lowes, enough to make a door or two, and costs like 15 bucks, its super strong, mostly waterproof, i had a vent in front of, and on the sides of my clutches, and never had problems with water.

buddy made a mesh hood out of it, held up all winter, only a burn hole from the pipe, but thats kinda to be expected! he never had wet clutch, or snow ingestion problems with it on MANY over the hood days this winter.

I agree cheap and durable.:beer;

I used the same pet screen (double layer) as mentioned above with know propblems at all. I drilled a bunch of holes in the shock tower/clutch side of my Rev and siliconed the mesh on the inside. Work awesome. Cool air in the front, hot air out the back.

ANY fabric store...

Cut a sheet of thin aluminum (in a shape that you like), and tie wrap it inside the fabric, between the pet screen and the pipe. When the screen gets pushed down, it's a lot less likely to burn the fabric.

bdx is the north american distributor, they have it in 40" by 500' rolls. I just got a big sheet of it. its 20$ a foot I think.
