i got rearended over this winter and was thinkin about gettin a new tunnel. would a van amburge tunnel be worth it? is it hard to take the old tunnel off and put a new one on? has anyone done this?

If i ever change a tunnel from stock it will definitely be a VA tunnel. so comfortable to stand on the rear foot boards. so much control.

i changed tunnel on my 2006 M9 to a van amburg. from strip down to finish 10 hrs total. I thought it was easy. Get yourself an air riveter tho, lotsa rivets. Also take tons of pics and upload onto your comp on how things come apart so they can go back together. Cheers and good luck!!!!!!

VA tunnel

Got any pics so we can see what your working with.Do you really need the $1800 tunnel or can you just go with the VA tunnel back half ? Unless you really want the whole VA tunnel and all the coolers and such. Big bucks and some time involved but if that's what you want it does improve sled in powder over stock tunnel.
The STICKY posts under running boards is a great learning info thread there. Some things your looking forward too.
Sounds like you got rear ended pretty bad.Hope all was ok with everyone.
Maybe insurance is paying for it in that case go for the VA update while your fixing your sled.

Van Amburg tunnels

I did a Van Amburg 162" tunnel on a ZR bulkhead back in 2005. Definently better than the stock tunnels. If you get one, get the edge coolers for sure. Makes removing snow removal from the boards a thing from the past. As a added bonus, keeps you're feet warm on the ride home. I also did a drop and roll at the same time.

i guess the rear tunnel half would be a better deal. are the running boards wider on that? can you get the running board coolers on that too? if anyone has pics i would love to see them. thanks
