Has or is anyone run these boards ? Are they worth the 300 or should a guy just buy the snow eliminators

300 bucks in kinda steep, they all do the same thing so i would go with the cheapest and most durable ones. Both WRP running boards work great and look nice and Better boards are also nice for the price. Hope this helps.

Ummm I'm not sure you are thinkin the same thing the VE boards are actual full replacement running boards they are I believe 3 '' wider and have like a better board built into them. I'm askin because I'm sick of ridin on the cooler tubes on the edge of the stock boards. Thanx for any replies.:smokin:

Oh sorry man, havent test rode any of those type but knowing the quality of VE im sure they are a great product. Install might me tricky with having to lenghten your cooling lines to reach but other then that im sure they are great.

Thats the biggest selling feature for me they use all the stock lines just put em on and go.

Those look great, and are exactly what I am looking for, but I have one concern with the design. I was thinking the wider boards would float the sled more not allowing the track to "dig", does anyone have any experience on them?

As a manufacturer of the world's most popular running board replacement traction products we at Snowmobile Better Boards did extensive field testing and found that the wider the board the poorer your off trail performance was on like vehicles.

The fact of the the matter is that any static (non rotating) drag is BAD. There once was a theory of the more flotation would be superior in deep powder but we proved that instantly and unarguably WRONG. Flotation of anything other then your rotating track equals drag and that hinders forward motion. The only thing wider running boards offer as a benefit is more foot platform to stand on.

Anyone who has spent any time on an Polaris Edge knows you mostly ride balancing your feet on the outer extrusion that has minute cleated traction and is heated. BUY SNOWMOBILE BETTER BOARDS FOR YOUR EDGE! It all goes bye bye and you can just ride your sled without slipping or battling built up ice all day long. You also won't wear out the center of the soles on expensive riding boots from constantly digging for traction on the razor sharp stock extrusions. The very best proven designs for durability, finish, and performance.

I agree with F-bomb... The less you have dragging in the snow (that isn't pushing the sled) the better off you are.

Wide boards fit the feet better, but they can "high-side" you as well... How many times have you been stuck where your track was spinning and the sled was sitting on top of the snow, suspended by the running boards? (just with the stock boards... wider ones would keep your track from clawing at the snow to an even larger degree)

Last year, when proposing/lobbying a new design to VE (shown on Super Daves sled) I wanted to get a stock width option... with no luck.

This year, I'll be going with the Better boards on my custom build.
