Valve cover gasket blew out on Impluse Turbo Nytro

i dont think that there is a breather plumbed into any intercooer. all apex kits have iac plumbed into the intercooleras do most nytro kits. but no way would any kit pressureize the crankcase via "breather" to the intercooler.

They have built and welded it together with the intercooler, but its not plumbed to the airflow to the motor. Its just a oil breather canister attached to the intercooler.

Do you understand??

thanks for the lesson on mcx intercoolers, but the nytro does have a seperate breather and is not a part or attached to the intercooler.

The mcx 2010 kits differ from the old ones. I do not have a mcx nytro, just took a look at my friends sled.

Great day on the mountain yesterday until the valve cover gasket blew out during a climb. I run approx 10lbs boost and burn 94 octane. The sled belched out a puff of black smoke (oil hitting the hot turbo) and oil soaked the engine compartment and the valve cover gasket blew out at the half circle portion behind the battery. Turbo looks good. Only change I have made is the four stroke solutions one way valve (yes it is installed correctly). Looking for some advice from the turbo guru's out there...Should I be putting in a bigger breather tube into the valve cover? Should I be doing a compression check?(too much blow by) Anything else I should be considering? Thanks in advance.... Thomas

Blow by pass rings or deto gods have been there.
Never seen valve cover gaskets blown out ever so it must be hurt motor!
Sorry guy!

I would suggest leak down test first because the bleeder hose could have been plugged, many things could have contributed the the problem so I wouldnt suggest engines problems until further troubleshooting is done. My understanding is that if there ring bypass then the excess pressure would exit through intake or exhaust NOT valves train. Im not a mechanic though.:face-icon-small-dis

i agree that there needs to be further inspection not speculation, but blowby will pressurize the crank case on tdc. and that inturn will pressurize the valve train air space via up the timing chain and oil drain back cavaties and push out the weakest spot.

Not necessarily. I had it happen to my stock, normally aspirated engine at about 400 miles. Never figured out why, and all has been normal since.

Mine must have been a plugged hose because ever since i pushed the half moon back into place, I have had zero issues since. Good news for me.

head gaskit

What was the verdict?
Did both of you have the jacobson roll over valve?
Was the breather iced up?
Anything to watch for or changes to make?
Thanks
