Drove over Vail Pass this afternoon,raining in town of Vail at 8150' but snowing pretty good at pass level 10600'. Unusual to see it rain this early in springtime.Pulled in lot,coverage still looks good, guessing to be about 3'-4' packed base of go anywhere snow.Vail and Copper ski areas are reporting un-compacted bases 49" and 63".Winter Storm warning thru Thursday.
