any one else have bad luck with v force reeds? iv only put on about 600 miles with them in and the tips of the reeds are all breaking off and it sucked one entire petal thru the motor. is this a common thing?

Do you have the new reed cages? If your reeds are completely exposed with no plastic cage around them then you need the new cage. Can you take a pic? I (through my dealer) sent mine to Mototassinari and received brand new reeds and cages for free.

Ya V Force reeds don't do you much good in the CFI motors due to the lack of lubrication of the fuel/oil not going through the reeds. The carbon fiber reeds gets brittle and snap. This problem is very common on the 08-10 rmk/dragons. I would highly recommend NOT running them. There's a lot of discussion of this on the IQ section.

ill try to get a pic up for you. my 09 has had them in since day one and not an issue with them yet. theres about 6000 hard miles on them. thanks for the info guys.

Don't try them.. But I know for a fact they work in the Pro and I have already sucked three rows of tips threw my engine on the mag side. But when I sent the old ones back v-force they sent me new ones back that where totally different and they work very well and no problems so far... I have put v-force reeds in all my other IQ sleds and they didn't do anything for them at all. But like I said before they work on the PRO... Seat of your pants work not DYNO #'s... Thats my take on v-force reeds.

Are saying there are updated reeds for the CFI? How many miles are you getting from a set, before they lose the tips? I have a set, now not sure about installing.

Alright, the consensus seems to be to not use V-Force 3 reeds. What do you guys recommend for the Pro and IQ engines; stock, Boysen, or ???????

First set I got 162 miles on.. The new and improved v-force reeds I have had no problems so far and I'm at 634 miles now..
