Utah Ladies Ride

  • Start date Start date
Did you ever get a for sure date when this was going to happen?

I know that there are at least 3 of us SouthEast Idaho gals that would like to go. Is the riding for all types of riders, I just bought my daughter a new sled and would consider bringing her with me. She needs all the practice and play that she can get.

Still debating after the LadiesRide site comments though. I don't want this to turn out to be a "Utah Laides Ride" with NO MEN ALLOWED issue as it was on the other site. My hubby was going to come with me and was thinking bout riding with the other men that were there. If this is going to be a prob just let me know.

Not trying to stir the CHIT over here so I hope that this doesn't offend anybody.

I'm still sticking with the same date. But we are ready to ride anytime. We will try to make it for all types of riders and it does not have to be like the LR your referring to. That is all good and fun too. I wish I could go!!!! Your guys are welcome to come with and ride with my hub.

Mrs Hobb-Z.....Like I said on the Ladiesforum, if everyone wants to bring their hubby/BF great but lets make this ride just ladies. We can hook up with them later in the day for lunch or at a certain time. I think it would be great if you wanted to bring your daughter, the more ladies the better!

This is exactly what Tonya's talking about, I DO NOT WANT TO BE WITHIN MILES OF A LARGE GROUP OF WOMEN RIDERS...LOL ;):D:beer;

I do want to come ride with and meet some new peeps, I also think the night
life could be mixed. The ladies ride in halfway has lots of guys hanging around,
the only difference is most aren't the S/O's.

Hola Mike!!! You can ride on MY side of the pass and we could meet up at some point with the hairspray posse. This Uintas is a BIG place and my Ponderosa is on the other end of that closed highway to heaven. see ya in the spring. I'll fill up the soup bowl. :)))) Maybe we could even have a party down this side too. Hope the Hobb Z family is doing well. That's a lot of CATS!

I am not suggesting that the ladies totally ditch their S/O go out and party at night and hang with a bunch of guys that are not part of the group! Just that the ladies RIDE together.

I believe that GP even suggested that maybe all of us could get cabins right there at the parking lot if everyone didnt mind sharing with peeps.

What is wrong with the ladies going out on a ride in the same direction as the guys making plans to meet up at a certain point later in the day?

I set up a ladies ride several years ago in Colo. and did this exact thing. It worked out great! EVERYONE started in the parking lot, then split up and EVERYONE (male & female) hooked up 3 hours later. Then split back up and headed to the parking lot.

Hello Rock

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

I am going to chime in now and say; YES, this will be a ladies ride. The Ladies will meet in the Parking Lot and they will ride. We really don't care how you get there. Just get to the parking lot. As you have all seen, there has not been a ton of interest from the ladies. So at this point it is hard to throw down a bunch of rules of Independence.
Sledhead would be glad to take any guys out and ride the day away.
I have this in mind after we ride:
BBQ and drinks at our cabin, if anyone is up for it.
If peeps rent at BR Lodge, mix it up a little and have cabin hopping get togethers. So peeps can get to know each other.
And for those in Evanston: Crash in your room, go out to eat or hit the bars. Whatever.
This is a ride. Get it. A ride?
We're offering this to have fun, meet new people and have fun. And have fun. Oh crap the fun thing sounds like fun.:D:D:D
Point Blank:
*Get here
*Girls take off and have fun
*Guys take off and have fun
*After is to be determined by each individual and what ya feel like doing.
First of all we need it to snow and get a count on the people that are really coming. Then we can start to count down and get all excited.

Hello you sexy beotich,
I hope you're feeling better than the last ride we tried to go on..lol How are those ribs?
We'd love to come down and do some rid'in and I don't care who does what or who goes where, I just think it needs to be a family trip..thats how we roll.

Kassi-m1000
Kota-rmk 800

We are doing well, and I know you are golden..;):beer;

Good to here from ya,
COME ON SNOW AND SNOW ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Colorado4Fun
As I stated above in the VERY beginning, I was wanting the hubby to come so that he could ride with THE OTHER GUYS, NOT THE LADIES. For one thing, he doesn't have the patience to put up with that many hormones in one place. ;)

This was what I was meaning on the Ladies Forum, but it got all blown out of proportion and that is why I never made anymore comments. I get really sick of the bickering whenever the comment is made of bringing the SO to this kind of event.

I am very capable of getting myself there and all the other stuff that goes without having my hubby with me. Comments were made that these Ladies Rides are to show ourselves that we can be independent and show ourselves that we don't always need the men. Well on one hand, I do agree with that, but I also have to say that I LOVE to have my hubby with me. I may get discouraged with him sometimes, but 90% of the time I would not have it any other way.

My family may be a lot different than the rest of them out there, but we spend A LOT of our time together. Which means that when I go on the Halfway trip it is leaving the family out. I feel a little guilty because I can honestly say that my hubby has NEVER went on any kind of a trip without me unless it was work related and then still tried to make it so that I was there with him.

Who said on one of these forums? "A Family That Plays Together, Stays Together." Well this is what we live by.

We have had a lot of tragedy in our 16 years together and almost loosing my husband in a fire, my daughter having cancer at age 2 1/2 and then my son being ran over by a truck puts things into perspective a little more. All these things make us think a little different when it comes to going places without each other.

If I don't ever get invited to another ALL LADIES RIDE again then I guess I can try to understand that, but I will never have ANYBODY tell me that i should leave the SO home, KNOWING that there are a ton of other men there that he can ride with.

Enough ranting and I hope that I didn't offend anybody. Just stating my opinion.

Happy Holidays to ALL

We sure miss you UNCLE ROCK.

Is this the hormones you speak of^^^^, I was gonna buy a wig and try to sneek in. Good luck GP!

Kev, does this mean your out??? That's alright I understand. I was a little worried anyhow with that little sled you play on. And when you mentioned the wig I was worried about the extra weight it might add to ya, gettin stuck and all. Then on the other hand the wig could come in handy for when you did stick it and need something to put under your track to get yourself out.

Yea, yea, I love the hormones. It's just nice to see them coming from some gals for once on this forum.;)

My goal is to get you to rip off those shiny handguards on a tree on our first ride! ;)

As for the ladies ride.....Kev/Big Sal.....this is gonna be a tough choice for you, eh?:D

Well Kim, the tree's on Mt Dell Golf Course are pretty far apart. Kev has reassured me that we can handle that area. I didn't even know you were joining us. Hope your T-bo can handle that terrain.

This is the type of trip i need my wife to go on to boost up her confidence on the sled. See she only rides a few times a year so she is no side hiller pro. But she can fallow on trails, though she does get stuck on occation there too. She is worried about making an a** of her self and not having me there to help her out. For myself I'm wondering if their would be the patience for her to keep up as that is what she is worried that you all would have the patience that i have for her. She is at the begginer level still.

I'm only speaking for myself but I would love to see your wife go on this ride.:D I think that she would surprise herself more than anything after seeing how well she rides. If she is anything like I was/am, I just don't give myself the credit that I deserve.:(

I can tell you that I have went on some ALL Ladies Rides in the past couple of years and was so nervous all I wanted to do was stay at the room.:o I was very intimidated (at first). After the first few miles I settled down and realized that I could keep up and nobody was going to yell at me when I got stuck. :)

Have your wife get on the LadiesRide Forum. She will start to feel a little more at home with the rest of us when she can just talk to other women about different snowmobiling stuff.

I would love to talk to her myself. I could tell her a few stories, she won't feel so bad about the sidehilling. I STILL HATE TO SIDEHILL and I have been riding for 15+ yrs.

Have her PM or if she wants my phone number let me know, I will PM it to ya.

I'm with Mrshobbz. She should come along. It would build her confidence for sure.

First off she would never feel like an a**. I wouldn't yell. I might laugh. That's because we all get stuck and that is the fun of it. All it takes is team work and having each others back. We would be there for each other.

I do think that when the snow is ready to ride you should take her out as much as you can and work with the skills she's nervous about. Side hilling, getting herself unstuck, whatever it may be. Remember this ride is 4 months away. That is a ton of time to work on and improve skill level.

I know I have a few I want to brush up on. I'm guilty of being dependant on my hub and that is a goal of mine to be a bit more independent. Mainly for the safety reasons. I like him doing all the wrenching and manly stuff. But if something happened to him I need to know what to do and how to do it.

Also what sled is she riding? Is her sled set up for her? Does she have warm gear? Does she really like to snowmobile? If all the answers are yes, then she'll be a ripper. It just takes time and some patience on her part and those riding with her. But seriously get her out there and let her play. Complement her and give her confidence. Tell her what she did wrong in a nice way and teach her all that you can. Defiantly tell her to join the ladiesride.com she would love the forum.

We all have some good stories. I could share a few myself. But I'm still making stories. It would be more like a book when I got done. My user name should have been Rag Doll:face-icon-small-win.

1MEXonM7........Like the rest of the ladies have said, It would be great if she can join us for the Ride!!!! Get her on the ladiesride forum, everyone over there is great and very willing to give her any and all of the help she needs.
