Using Non - Polaris Oil

I have over the years just bought what is a available at the gas station and never had a problem or an engine fail. maybe a part of it is that I have never owned anything else then Arctic Cat with Suzuki engine. But I think as long as it is from a respectable manufacturer and is synthetic is should be ok. I am thinking about running Mystik this year as it is the cheapest synthetic I have found
Does anyone of you have any experience with that oil?

I would agree with this statement. Engine builders love it when their customers use Amsoil. They will see their engine back for repair sooner than ever.

MAN, don't you know your going to scare all the little kids with that sled!
I burned down three so called bullet proof 2007 600 Polaris motors using Amsoil Interceptor. (I used to buy it by the 55 gallon drum. Cheaper)
They were covered under warranty, but the dealer said it was an oil issue. I had the oil tested by Amsoil and they said their test came out good. What else are they going to say? So who do you believe??????....... Buyer beware.

My summary of what all have said on here and dealers as well (owned Ski-Doo and Polaris in the past):

If you do have a problem with the engine there are sooooo many variables there is no way they can pinpoint it down to the oil alone.

The name brand oil companies have been around long enough and have proven themselves to be great, successful companies.

My choice has been Amsoil and have had no problems in 3 sleds, as well as running it in my 08' F-350. It is cheaper than Ski Doo or Poo oil and have had success. Is it because of the oil or because I have been blessed with good running sleds? We will never know.....

Good luck to all!

Sounds to me like you need to find a new dealer, not new oil......

We have always used Amsoil interceptor in our sleds and KTM -stroke dirt bikes. No engine failures at all, and always clean when disassembled. My 2007 Carl's 685 had just under 2,000 miles on it when I had Carl's open it up and inspect it for me. It was in great shape, and very clean according to the service manager there. I even asked him if it looked like the oil I was using was doing the job and he said yes it was, keep using it even though they usually promote Redline. I had them freshen up the top end and I ran it another 1850 miles prior to selling it a year ago and the last I heard from the new owner it was still running great. I also use Amsoil's 20-50 V-Twin 4T oil in my air cooled Harley engine, which is a high end aftermarket build and it has been great. With this kind of history, there is no reason for me to change.
