Used Crossfire vs. Renegade

Am looking to buy a pre 08 Crossfire or Renegade, we ride in the mountains of upstate NY, have anywhere from 12" to 5' at any given time, most riding is on logging roads, very steep and usually deep, so we need to carve and climb, which crossover is the better, or should I say pros and cons of both, no brand loyalists need reply, I like both and have owned both, and these are the most available used in our area. Just sold an 08 Summit XP 800 , loved the sled, but needed the cash. The only thing I have to compare to is my old 01 ZL 800 big bored to 1010 and stretched to 136. The Doo was way lighter, of course a little less power, but the old Cat seemed to outcarve it in deep powder thru the woods, of course the XP felt lighter and got stuck less due to longer track. So, I guess I'd be looking at 03 - 05 M7 short track or 06-07 Crossfire 7 and 04 -07 Renegade 800 Rev chassis. OK lets hear it

Sounds to me like the 141 M7 would be a good fit for what you do. It is quite a bit lighter than the crossfire with a little more track. The Rev chassis Renegades are really nice sleds to, but for truly deep snow I think the 141 M7 would be the ticket. If you swapped out the track on the Renegade it would be a toss up.

Simple really, get the renegade...swap tracks and you are left with a rev mountain sled with a wider front end...change gears to compensate for the added traction...16 x 144 is all you will need to have a great time...and really either the 600 or the 800 are both great sleds....
