Do you guys use loctite red/blue on the cylinder bolts/head bolts when installing. im having trouble keeping both tight. i torque the cylinders to 28 and the head (rkt) to 21, but they seem to be loosening after a while an then i get coolant escaping  any suggestions at all....
thanks

I use blue and torque the head to 22 and jugs to 30.

I've never used or heard of locktite being used on head bolts. I just put some oil on the threads and torque them. If they loosen up you may have detonation going on. It would be wise to check for signs of detonation.

Check the compresion o-ring for tiny little flaws or deformation (hard to explain what detanation does to the o-ring). Also check for tiny peck marks around the fire ring of the combustion chamber. Wipe all the oil off and check very closely, if it's there and you look close enough you'll see it. it will show up on the exaust side of the o-ring, piston and combustion chamber. Another thing to look at is the mating surfaces of the dome to the cylinder. The dome can actually become "coined" from rattling up and down on top of the jug.

Fuel is changing in the north west with ethonal being added to our fuel. It bit me and several of my friends over the last month. Although I was lucky enough to catch it before any real damage was done. The result is having to run a couple gallons of race fuel per tank.

The first thing that happened to mine was the head bolts started to loosen up and then leaking coolent. So I took the head off and found that it was detonating.

Dab a little grease under each bolt head flange to prevent it from sticking to the head and giving a wrong torque reading.

I don't think i have det. going on, but i will definately check for it. i'll try the grease under the flange also. i was also told to put it together an run it till its up to operating temp. an then take the head off, and re-tighten cylinders, and then re-install head
