URGENT !! INJECTOR OIL UPDATE

Amsoil Interceptor - "Exceptional cold-temperature fluidity (-72°F pour point)"

I've ran that (or the Injector oil) in all the motors you've had your hands on Dan, and they are still running just as good as the day I got them from you.

If you have affordable oil in your reservoir, don't waste it. You can decrease its viscosity by adding 3-4 ounces of gasoline into it.

I've done it in the past and had no problems yet.

I would not give one penny to mark at legend the way he treats his dealers should say a lot on the guy he is and the way he runs his business Me along with a couple other dealers have dropped him because of the shady stuff he does so we ask please do not support him in any way. Thank you

So if you are running a mineral based oil but are above the pour point temp, are things ok?

I run Polaris blue. Pour point is like -30F or something. At temps I ride at, even with the sled sitting out all night, in 0 degree temps, I'm still way above that pour point. And the oil flows well.

Maybe this is why I have almost 4k miles on my dragon 800, with no engine issues yet! Always ran amsoil interceptor, seems to work pretty good. Although the powervalves don't come out looking shiny, like the ones look on the jug. and actually pretty cheap compared to a lot of the synthetics. I will stick with it.

"Update: received some royal purple snow 2-c today, went to the lab, First i looked at the oil in my microscope and noticed some thing differnt from the other oil's, The base oil is all synthetic, But some th ing did not look right so i checked out the royal purple web site"

"TESTED: Legend ZX-2SR: First off under the microscope this oil is not a synthetic oil, but an ultra pure highly refined mineral oil, the molecules are very small,"

I would like to see the lab and microscope used to view individual oil molecules by that fella above.

Regarding dry case, and leaving oil choice aside for a moment...
Wouldn't it be a good idea to increase oil consumption very high by common thinking, running with a larger puddle should ensure more uniform lube?
I can go as heavy as 20:1 on my cr250 without fouling or excessive smoking.

Thanks MH.
32:1 has always been my magic number for dirt bikes. I'll be measuring and setting my 15 pro asap.

Well called a few dealers and shipping for legend oil 2 cases is 108 bucks. Looks like I'll. Be trying, ski-doo or amsoil as it's stocked at local deals.

Lol. I was running 26:1 last time I scuffed a piston. And b/c of no oil of all things! I think the increased consumption also made it easier for the oil cap to lock on me! Which the xtra oil in the motor is what allowed me to drive long enough till the line was sucked completely dry! :frusty::frusty:

Just want to say kuddo's to Indy Dan. It takes a person with incredible integrity to say he or she made a mistake and wants to offer corrective advice. Im not expressing an opinion on mineral versus synthetic oils as I'm no expert.

however I have full respect for Dan and hold him to a high level of integrity for his change in advice, all for the unselfish purpose of serving his customers and snowmobile enthusiasts.

Few have the emotional intellect to do what you did, you have my sincere respect.

2 cases of Legend ZX-2R to California is only $50.

Makes the cost $42/gallon delivered to your door...
For as high of quality as this oil is... it is less expensive than most other quality alternatives... Less expensive than Interceptor delivered to my door too. Interceptor and Redline being my second choice... They are good oils.

I got four cases of the Legend ZX-2SR USPS'd to Alaska in two packages for $90.00 per package. As you can combine two cases into one and still be under the weight limit and size restrictions. FWIW

Regarding Amsoil Dominator vs Interceptor, the Dominator oil is higher viscosity and made to "stick" to parts. Better film strength (where it can get in). I read somewhere in their literature that it doesn't run as clean and is intended more for race motors since they are torn down, cleaned, and inspected more often. Sounds like the type of thing Dan is trying to avoid with the tight tolerances. Interceptor is probably the better choice.
