upgrading and have a few questions

hey there, i searched the treads couldn't really find what i was looking for. i currently ride a gen and had wedge style my hole life. finally got sick of them and looking for a newer style switchback or rmk. i just have a few little questions because i no nothing about these new style polaris's.

1: whats the main difference between the switchback and the rmk?
2: what size lug can i fit in the switchback? looking to put 2 or maybe a bit more.
3: any major problems with the 900?

thanks for your time, ill post what i buy soon.

Switchback is designed to ride on trails and be capable in mountains. shorter track and smaller lugs. Different rear skid and shocks. Wider front I believe.?

RMK designed for mountain riding. Taller lugs, narrower front different skid.

2.4 inch biggest track that will clear front cooler. 2.25 probably biggest with non stock tracks (don't believe the Polaris 2.4 is really quite that big.)

Read post in the stickies at top of the 900 forum.

konarider, Personally, I would skip the 900s and 06 700 and get a 2007 or newer 700. I owned a 05 900 RMK that I put over 3500 miles on without alot of problems. However, I did spend a pile of cash on mods to lighten it up, and increase reliability. It was a fun sled, had alot of power, but it seemed like I was always screwing with something.

I wound up buying a 2010 700 RMK, as I read alot about 800 problems on the forums. I can say without hesitation I would much rather ride that then the 900. It is alot less tiring to ride all day, and probably alot less prone to problems. I do miss the power of a piped 900, but the lighter chassis of the 07' and newer are just a more fun to ride. IMHO, of course. Jesse

BTW, do you ride a Kona mtn bike?
