Just starting to look forward to gettin out there in Jan. Was wondering how the snow was near the Line Shack area. We plan on staying near there and riding up twards the Lava and
Tog areas!

We stay out there jan 14-22, snow is ok around the line shack area but much better up at tog. The problem we always run into is burning too much gas on the trail to tog areas which is about 30-35 miles so at 9 mpg u have to refuel somewhere ( lava, tog) thinking of trailering up to tog most of the time this year unless there is awesome snow near line shack. Trail ride is pretty nice though maybe a couple times.

thanks for the link. Been to the snowies, was good but i like the dubois/tog area better. Maybe will try the snowies in mid spring if i can get another trip put together.

I've been there twice in early February and the snow has sucked both times. 3'-4' base(maybe!), with nothing new during the week we stayed. It's to bad, because the area and the Lineshack are cool places to ride and stay.

how are the conditions around the line shack right now? Are they grooming and marking trails yet?

snow at line shack isn't good yet, togwotee is gettin better. i have heard rumors that line shack, crooked creek, and saw mill are all going to be closed still thru after new years. haven't been able to confirm due to them being closed right now. togwotee is open and just started grooming but some of the lakes and rivers aren't frozen enough to groom over yet. hope this helps

talked to crooked creek today and they said they will be opening in a few days for full business and the restaurant and bar will be open this week. The lady said they were grooming and starting to make the trails and the snow is not looking to bad right now. I hope it keeps gettin better. Also, she said that she thinks the line shack will be opening possibly next week.
