Two wheel kit - square radius on outer track?

I went from a three wheel kit to a two wheel kit and now have a rumble coming from the skid. After checking belt, drivers, nubs on powerclaw track, bearings, etc, I've decided that the square bends on the outside of the track may be causing my rumble. Anyone else notice how the outside edges of their track has a square radius to it when using a 2 wheel kit? I'm considering going back to the 3 wheels to see if it cures the rumble. When I lift the sled and rotate the track by hand, I can feel this jerkiness every three inches (3.0 pitch track)
Here's a pic:

I've wondered the same thing, but I'm pretty sure it's more loose than yamaha's specs. Does a two wheel kit require that the track be more loose?

this was the first thing that i did to my mtn sled
im running stock wheels
3" of sag on the track
on stand i can turn track by hand
i dont feel or here anything
what size are the wheels that u are using
pull the belt off and turn by hand if its rubbing or binding u should feel it
just a thought
good luck
happy new year

Tried a new belt and I loosened the track a bunch and still get the jerkyness. I've got the same track with the same drivers on my turbo nytro with 3 of the same wheels. It spins very smooth. I guess I'll have to tear into it and see what I find.

Agreed, the radius of the wheels haven't changed? Has to be track tension. Go as loose as your track can handle without it ratcheting the gears. Just my 2 cents.:beer;:beer;

Yes, but with no wheels on the outer edges of the track, it is bending different than the inner part of the track where there are wheels to support it. Considering all the cats with two wheels and the powerclaw track, this probably isn't the cause of my rumble.

make sure you have the same tension on both sides of the rails if one size is looser than the other your track will have slack on that side causing dissfigured track on that side noticed that on my skidoo when i put the two wheel kit on it

Problem solved!!! :)
I bought the axle for the 3 wheel kit and another wheel. With 3 wheels, the track rotates much smoother. No jerkiness or rumble.

Still think your track was too tight....

What sled is this on? I noticed your user name and you mentioned that you tightened the track to yamaha specs.

Is this track on a rev? just trying to help, there is something wrong with the setup or the track it's self. Masking it with the third wheel may make it operate well but does not fix the problem.

It's on a nytro with a timbersled skid/Iceage rails. Powerclaw track. It didn't seem to matter how loose I set the track with the two wheels, it would slap up and down like crazy when on the stand and I could feel the rumble when riding it. I know that tons of others use two wheels without the issues I've had. All I know is that I've now set it up identical to my other sled (same track, rails, wheels, hyfax, etc) and neither of them have the issue.

Here's what the dumb engineer (me) doesn't like: Every two wheel kit I've seen (when using a 3.0 pitch track) has the straight track portions between bars on the outer edge of the track where it makes the bend (as in the above pic). As the track is sliding along the rails, everything is straight all the way across the track. It then makes the bend and is not straight all the way across (the edge gets deformed as in the pic). Shortly after the rear wheels, it has to straighten out again to go around the upper idler wheels. So it is constantly going straight-deformed-straight.......... Tracks with a shorter pitch shouldn't be as vulnerable.
