Twisted Turbo Experience

I thought I would tell a few other fellow Snowesters about my experince with Shain Stanger from Twisted turbo. From the moment we arrived at Shain's shop he was polite and curtious to us. He answered ALL of our turbo related questions and showed us some cool stuff he has been working on. Shain never bashed any other turbo manufacturers or had a bad thing to say about other shops. He offered helpful ideas, tips, and product to make the best of my setup. Shain did "exactly" what he said he would do and more wich is Shain's standard. I am a very happy customer and I cannot thank Shain and his guys enough for all that they did!

I type this to help folks who are on the fence choose a shop who is going to take good care of them before and after the sale. I cannot say enough positive things about Twisted Turbo. I also want to add this is not intended to bash ANY other turbo shops. Go BOOST!

Nice post. Shain is great, I don't even know him. But last year if you bought a turbo from him on a certain week he would donate a bunch of money to the Utah avalanche center.

I didn't know about that, but it doesn't suprise me after spending a couple of days with the guy. He was humble and genuine which honestly did suprise me. I'm glad we have guys like him in our sport.

I haven't bought a kit from him, But I bought a used twisted HCR and couldn't be happier. This is the first sled I have bought and would sell knowing its a great sled and runs awesome. Usually I don't even like selling my NA sled in fear something might go wrong, but this one I would could practically sell with a guaranty.

im on a second year twisted kit, this sled is old as its a 2008,....and shes had zero issues this year, all year never skipped a beat, worked better then any stock sled ive ever had and turbo kits/sleds in the past, should i suggest the twisted kit helped my percert season?....nope, all the free advice and other tips from stanger helped with my perfect season:light:

i was just about to check a 2012, but then i thought "why"...i got the sled i want, so this sled is off to another season next year:face-icon-small-hap

first year on a turbo sled. bought my kit from shain after reading and hearing about how good his customer service is and im very glad i did. he's answered all my calls and questions before, during and after the install. after burning down my top end due to my own stupidy shain heard about it, he called and told me to bring my sled to his shop and he'd go thru it to make sure everything was in tune. i took my sled to his shop last friday and he found a few things i'd messed up on installing it and corrected them for me ( all free of charge), then we went for short ride to tune (borrowed me some gear seems i'd left mine home) 10 minutes of tuning and i was dialed in and had allot better understanding of how to tune it. rode with him all the next day at the tony grove shootout.:face-icon-small-hap i couldn't be happier with my sled now and how shain went way out of his way to make sure i was 110% satisfied with his kit. you couldn't beat the boost grin off my face with a bat :face-icon-small-coo

i know how all you guys feel, so rare these days...

i bought a used m8 with shains race gas extreme kit....it was in need of some major tlc so i rebuilt the whole sled and during the process i called shain a few times for help on setup for my elevation and a few troubleshooting questions and he helped me out every step of the way....what a guy!

i know whos getting my hard earned money when i boost a new proclimb!
CHEERS !

I havent dealt with shaine yet either but i did buy hcr with a twisted kit on it and it has worked awsome. Im new to turbos and its worked great.
The guy i bought the sled from said shaine was great to work with. He picked a sled up at the dealer for the guy and built it all and delivered it right here to bend. Shaine took him up to the hill and tuned it for him and showed him everything. Just from everything good i hear about shaine im really confident in my turbo setup.

this is a pretty impressive thread. Usually there is at least one guy who pops into these threads right away and tells about his negative experience or about how his buddies kids classmates uncles neighbor was screwed by a Twisted kit. but not a one...impressive.

I hope to have a turbo on my proclimb 800 at the end of the warranty and right now I am just trying to accumulate knowledge on the subject. I was leaning towards Cutler or Push from mmsports, but this thread is VERY CONVINCING. hmmmmm....more food for thought I guess.

I hear so many mixed reviews about BoonDocker but I love the idea of their ABC being that I ride both high and low elev..... anyway, I am getting off topic

Twisted Turbo, Should I???

After reading about all the ins and outs on the last three threads, I have came to some conclusions. Different oiling systems/pumps to supply oil to the motor via into the fuel pumps ect, that Twisted Turbo's has a very Loyal following (Which M1000 Turbo should I go with thread), and that Blart is a little wierd.

However, the mere possibility that Twisted could get 625 HP out of a M1200 Turbo is awesome.

A few years ago, I bought a Custom Turbo from Shain a Mitshubishi Journal Bearing style Turbo. I don't remember the size, but had different turbines, ect. I put that on a M8, and Holy SH*t!!!! That thing about killed me. A little Laggy, but Holy cow, it was fast. Nothing could touch me. Not even the Apex Turbo's. At the time they were running 25 pounds of boost. I know the kits are different today on the Apex's, but back then my 2007 M8 just killed them.

I have to say it was due to that Journal Bearing Turbo. It just worked so well. Shain says no intercooler, and I said OK, and holy Sh*t just give her some throttle and hold on tight and got in some spots where no one but god could be!!!

Now it is time to upgrade to the M1200 Turbo system. 625 Horsepower Can he really do it!!!(read it on Blarts post) Shain worked the impossible for my M8, Can he now work it on the 1200.

Shain I am sorry, but I have to put you on a cloud high in the heavens, because no one else could get my M8 to work as well as you, Holy Sh*t, that thing ran.

Can the Twisted Turbo Guru do it again with my M1200. Lets get the Twisted Nation and tell us how your sleds run with the Twisted Turbo's, and some of the new features.

My buddy has a Boondocker kit on a M1000 (race gas) and he keeps telling me that nothing can touch him. I want him to be saying Holy Sh*T to me when I blow his doors off.

By the way, can anyone tell me how to get a hold of a KMOD dealer, I hear that KMOD suspensions is the the best made, and if that M1200 Twisted kit runs like my M8 custom turbo, then I need to have the best suspension to handle all that horsepower.

Thanks again

T

Call Shain on the K-mod. He installed one on my buddies Pro RMK with a 174 3" track, drop and roll chain case, and of course a RG turbo running 14.5 lbs of boost. Sled runs awesome and the thing only packs the skis 3 inches in the air while climbing. My buddy is very happy with all aspects of his sled.

The KMOD is in a league of its own right along with twisted. I did my homework and do the least amount of tuning and least amount of work to pick and make the hardest lines.

I could not have been more pleased than I am with my Twisted M1000 RG.
Have had my first 2-stroke turbo-season, everything has worked 100% all season:) 7-10 psi boost Sealevel-4500 ft 100LL
Shain has a great customer service. :) I`ll definitely buy a kit from him for next years proclimb M800.

Now that the season is over (might get one more ride)

This is the first year ever that I have not had a major failure and I bought my twisted sled used with 1150 miles already on it and never been touched, I am over 2100 miles still running great, the only thing I have problems with is the DD bearing which I pulled when I got it and it was half gone but no real damage, the reeds, (common) and the exhaust mount broke and it turn caused the y-pipe to break. I think next year I will have to change motor mounts (I don't have any extra mounts in it yet) All in all its the most reliable sled I have ever owned, very happy. The extra lift the Kmod gives also helps a bunch in the spring when sidehilling the steep stuff.
