Twisted Nation - Let's Help Me & Others

T
Okay, I am in meltdown recovery. Here are my stats.

Canada
12.8 a/f
Chevron 94
M1000 2007 Twisted Turbo Baby.
1000-2500 mete el. riding location - Burnt down at 2000 metres
Experienced rider, but not turbo experienced.
40 psi fuel
5-6 lbs boost pump fuel
Amsoil Interceptor 40:1

Now what should I do other than start from mild and go to wild.

I am adding 1-2 gals of race fuel 111 octane and dropping to 12 a/f and switching to ESSO 91 octane.

Other than that, do we have any other suggestions???

my thoughts.....

i got a bit confused in the last thread you made, with that said
- pump gas at low alt should need a bit more attention
- 12.8 is too lean for that elevation, 12.5 is good, but id be 11.5 to 12 if i was you
- screw that 94 stuff, you can get 100 for about 4.50 a gallon???
- i hate amsoil, redline syn has my top end looking like new....over 1500 miles on a top end, but i do ride at 7-10K elevation and run straight 112 sunoco.....a top end cant be too costly over better fuel and oil
- id keep it at 5lbs or less, thats just me
- dont hold the throttle at any one position for too long on the trail, the O2 sensor just reads fuel mix so you have no clue if you're too hot (EGT).....this is a huge thing that cutlers will preach.....and i also agree with:beer;

take all that for what its worth, but its best you ride with other boosted riders.....make life much easier

Helping each other out sounds good.

I'm not up to speed on the pump gas set up, but I have an 07 M1000Twisted race gas set up,2500'-6500'.What numbers and fuel pressure are guys running.I've heard guys running #1 green-3.0,#2 yellow-3.5,#3 Red-off-flashing fast,#4 green/blue -5,#5 yellow/blue 5.5-6,#6 red/blue 7.5.that is one setting @40 psi. Then other setting for the same altitude #1 1.5, #2 2.0,#3 2.0, #4 2.0, #5 2.0, #6 6.5 @ 37-38psi fuel pressure. The fuel pessure seems to have a lot to do with all settings,so I've found. It seems hard to get the bottom end cleaned up and not squeeking the top.Anyone input might help us all.All in all my TM1000 is running pretty good, thanks alot for Shains help also.

Yes,the bog is what I'm referring to,you do get use to it,but would be nice to get a little better punch right of bottom.Just courious what other are running for number etc. Also for the original post,A/F should always be under 12.2 to be running safely, need more fuel under boost or less boost??

Also was told that if you run the bottom end to lean, then when you make a big pull or run hard in the deep powder, when you get out of it you stand the chance of squeeking piston. This is what I've been told to be careful of,so haven't gone to lean on the bottom end.I guess you can just adds some numbers to the bottom just prior to a long pull.

Well, I don't have a twisted set up, I have ovs, same turbo, but also running a prologic box. I run my fuel pressure at 41#, green=1, yellow=1, red=1, green/blue=4, yellow/blue=1/2, and red/blue=5/6

all turbo sleds will build heat at idle, its gets hotter with time, the twisted kit has a the shortest charge tube and after you hit the throttle will purge the hot air out the engine faster then other kits......it is what it is, try a boondocker with an innercooler.....holy moly, you can hold the throttle down for 4 secs sometimes before the sled will even move, not much fun:eek:

same box manufacture, yes

different programing, yes

Yes I know all about the BD intercooler(heat storage unit),my kit was originally a BD kit that was converted to Twisted kit,and was running a PL box last year, but I'm now running th attitude box.The numbers are different between the different brands.

Bog off idle is directly related to fuel pressure. If you can run a little lower fuel pressure (37-38 psi) and still have enough on top end, bottom end will be better....

Yes,I'm going to try a little lower fuel pressure also.I've been told that the proper way to set the f pressure is with the boost line unhooked so there is no interference. What is the lowerest f pressure allowable, I think it is no lower that 36psi,I've also been told that the stockers are at 46-48psi.Like I've stated before, that fuel pressure seems very important to a well tuned TT.I had some over fueling problems in the past, and the sled was hard on fuel, but with the lowered fuel presure,I'm getting over 100km/68m per tank. What is everyone else getting for mileage on a average basis?

with my standalone ecu, there is ZERO bug from touching the gas to WOT....if you want to have a oem feel like on a boosted sled, watch my thread on artic cat turbo.....should be for sale mid to end of january.

unfortunetly it does not help the guys trying to ride next weekend unless you are offering standalone system for testing:D

you are right!!! i will pray for you guys so everything goes well! i still have my iqr-t 700 cfi with attitude fuel box for now(it is my next project!) and i can't get my mid to 3/4 throttle rich enough so i need a new programmation and it is pain in the bu$T.......so for now, i'm still in the same boat as all of you, but not for long 'cause my tm1000 will be out on the snow in 10 days!!!!

Here in this thread Escape listed the settings for the attitude box #5 the yellow blue setting is supposed to be set at 5.5 but I do not have this setting in my box and when I checked the attitudes directions it says that it is supposed to not be viewable for tuning . Is that the setting for the second set of injectors in a race gas set up. I built my own pump gas set up and used the attittudes box and am working on tuning the box in any body have a good set of numbers for a pump gas set up with only 2 injectors

I'm running a twisted 7 rg. Last year I had a bog out of the hole consistently with hood on. The days that I didn't run a hood bog dissapeared, put hood on and one pull up the hill bog was back. This year I built a custom cold air intake and took it out in 5 ft fluff and no bog. U can't pull under hood air and have it run consistent, when u open the hood and feel your charge tube and it's over 115 degrees that contributing to low end bog.
