Turtle Mountain

there is 5 ways into Turtle that I know of.
The easiest is at 10k (approx) off the Kirkup take the right through the CMH heli ski area. There is a yellow sign that discloses the regulations to stay on the single track until into the alpine area. This is in effect until after the "Gulch". You will know when you are past it!! After that you will be good to go. Please do not tempt yourself or anyone in your group to climb on the area that has not tracks which is a tenured area for CMH heli ski. We are allowed through at this point but if more people continue to tear up the terrain it could be closed access at some point. I would also suggest you only go in there with experienced riders and high pressure for lasting visibility. If the weather rolls in fast you may be hooped. There is a few technical spots to navigate so bringing in newbies is not recommended.

Have fun and enjoy the mountain.

It can be very difficult to get back up off of the lakes, our group had to shovel out the trail coming back up because we couldn't get the smaller sleds up and over the saddle to drop down to Kirkup. Went from sunny to socked in in about 45 mins.

We were in there last Friday - awesome day but I wouldn't attempt going there without a guide or someone that really knows their way - there are some tangly spots in there - not as forgiving access as Boulder/Frisby - IMO.

Thanks for the Replys....! We are coming with a fairly experienced group. We just do not know the Revy area very well. Last time I was in Revy there was so much so we did not make past the drop in to the bull pen.
Look forward to meeting all the snowest crew this weekend...hopefully we get passes....

Cheers,

C
