Turning a gen 2 into a rider forward feel.

Can it be done? Any one know the distance from the running board to the top of the tunnel on a gen 2? and the distance from the running board to the top of the tunnel on an IQ or pro ride? Ive seen people swap IQ seats on to a gen 2 but if the tunnel is taller on the IQ it wont feel any higher correct?

Main reason is my knees really get cramped by the end of the day on my gen2. But ridding my brothers IQ feels much more stretched out and comfortable.

Thanks Matt

If you were to use a high rise seat that helps the knees quite a bit. On my edge I put a boss seat on it, made a big difference.

I have boss high rise seats on both my gen2 and edge. First class product.
I would recomend getting a handlebar riser for the gen2, but be aware that the steering post is a bit week.

If you get a riser go ahead and get a whole new steering post from Fabcraft if possible. Weak steering post doesn't even begin to describe the flimsiness of those things. Boss seats are a huge help and heigh about 10% of a regular seat.

Yeah Steering post is like a wet noodle.....Replace the whole thing! I got one 2 yrs ago from Wildchild!

Think ive decided on a 99 xc 700 (White) with a PERC kit, seat and tank from the 2012 snow check 163 rmk. skid from a gen 2 rmk or switchback stretched to a 144 with tipped up rails. White skis, no decals on the sled, black windshield with white checkers, probably a cobra track.

I have a 2000 RMK with the same problem. I weigh in at 202. I run FOX FLOATS up front, and it helps so much. Take out your sway bar, if you haven't already. I also run FOX SHOX in the back. Your suspension really depends on what you do. If you ride a lot of powder, softer shocks. Climbing, stiffer shocks.

WRP makes a 3" and a 4" rise seat. Mines a 4". In my opinion the quality far exceeds the boss seat, and with the optional storage bag you can stuff in a ton of things. Heres a couple pics of my 01 800......very comfortable ride

That seat is for an edge chassis, when mounted, there is a bit of a gap between the seat and the tank(very small) which is easily covered using black foam(sticky one side) weather strip. Here's a couple of close ups. No one has really noticed until I've pointed it out, I always get big compliments on how it looks.

Where did you find your seat? I can only find the WRP seat in the Edge chassis. Thanks
