turn a 151 into a 159 with factory rails?

I did exact same thing with my 01 summit put 03 rails on. Then moved the suspenion back almost 2" so I could put the artic cat 162 under it. The attack angle is alot less seems to work good, and the suspension also seems to work good. Tried the wahl bros drivers they are junk bind just like they said the tips wore so fast they look like they are melting with only about 200 miles. Spend the extrta money and get the avids they're worth it.

just had an afterthought here:face-icon-small-blu to clarify things.... did you notice a difference in the rail length from your '01-151 rails to the '03- 159...plus do you remember the part # of the 159 rails-thx

Yeah I've got pics, but for some reason I can't get them to load!:(

The "extreme" is either the 2.25/2.5/3" lug Challenger, the Maverick is what came stock on the Yamaha Apex, different pattern.

If you want I could e-mail you some pics, pm me your e-mail address and I'll do my best to get you some pics, although I don't know how much help they will be, my new tunnel only shows the old stock mounting holes of the front of the stock skid, but if anything it will give me an opportunity to show of the old iron!:)

any luck loading those pics yet?i just got a screaming deal on a brand new 162" x 2 1/2" x 3" pitch camo extreme and paid through the nose for a set of avids (before i found a better deal on a set of mountain magic drivers-:mad:damn it) slowly sourcing the necessary parts 'n doo dads to stick it together.just need to make a decision on the rail/rear axle combo and bite the bullet for the parts...and wait to get back to my sled in another province before i can work on it!:rolleyes:any good ideas for the rear suspension brackets or should a guy just re-use the factory pieces (eew!...the brackets off the revs look a lot nicer than those black hunks o metal!)

I don't remember the length of the rails I think they were a little longer but not as much as you would think it would take to make it a 159. I bought the rails used from my skidoo dealer so I don't know the part number spent like 50 bucks and swaped all the stuff over, and bought new hifaxes. Also added in another support between the rails in between the rear axle and the sissors of the suspension to help stiffin it like the new sleds tied the two sides together.

do you still have the sled? if you do- could you check to see if there is a part # stamped on them for me...the local doo dealer can't find a listing for anything bigger than the 151in '03  ...plus he can't be bothered to contact bombie directly for more info cause he'd rather sell me one of the new sleds :(
