Turbo XP Rear Skid ?

I have a few more miles on the Tom's/Rmotion setup. Ride is super fantastic. Rides better than any skid I've been on including a SC5 coupled and non coupled lengthened, Ez Ryde, Boivin Expert and the plastic thing, and a M-10. Does everything better. The only complaint I may have, and it's likely my setup because of limited testing time, but weight transfer could be increased. It keeps the skis down almost too good. Working with Tom on trying a few different things in the upcoming months and very excited to test test and test some more. While this is better than anything I've been on, I still feel like this suspension has so much potential it's scary.

FYI, my version is a 146 mounted in a low boost 1200 that's like;ly puts out somewhere slightly North of 200hp.

have a buddy with toms and it works sweet, holds the skis down in the steep

well... this last weekend I put the fresh air intake on my sled and it made a big difference in power. I added 1.5 grams and it is now on clicker 2 and runing 8,400 or so. clicker 4 hitting rev limiter before full throttle. clicker 3 hitting rev limiter very easily. I was riding with a couple new cat 1100t with hijacker boxes on them and strait pipe runing 16lbs of boost. Nothing any of us couldn't make. in one climb the cat was gaining on me, but I was having to get in and out of the gas to keep the front end down. the cats with 162 could hold it full throttle and the front end didn't come up much. they actually let their limiter out hopeing the front end would come up more. snow was setup a bit. I think that was giving it better traction and wheelieing. a few steep climbs the sled actually went past balance point and had to chop the throttle to get the front end back down.
I added 1.2 grams to the primary hopeing I can go back to clicker 4. I am now maxed out on the amount of weight I can run in my team pin kit with tungston inserts at 23.5 grams. rollers with fet inserts are .9 grams heavier then stock rollers. I saw some washers that go between arms and rollers that are supposed to be heavier. going to have to order some of those.
My skid is at timbersleds recomended setup for 8lbs of boost. the kit didn't come with the 3/4" spacers for the rear arm for the 10lbs boost recomended setup. I had some 3/4" spacers made and am going to try the recomended setup for 10lbs of boost tomarrow. :face-icon-small-coo

Well I am pretty sure I am going to do a pump gas turbo on my 2012 etec 154. My biggest question right now is what to do about the skid....

I want to keep the skis down a little more than what the stock skid does but still be able to wheely when I want to and I would also like to see less trenching. Will Tom's Evo air kit do the job here or should I spend the extra money to go with a complete skid?

Anyone with any experience with Tom's Evo Air kit on a Turbo XP please share your opinion.

Any two arm mounting rear skid will tend to lift the front. the only skid that is designed to keep the sled under control is the EZ Ryde. Just look at all the winners of Jackson the last 5-6 years all have had EZ's under them.

Though we are getting slightly more ski lift then the EZ ryde skid, some of the riders that used our skid in the RMSHA competition said they prefered it because, you could pick the skis up over some of the bigger holes and or bumps. And that was with a turbo motor. With stock engines, it rides very flat.
We have also added an adjustable coupling block that holds the skis down for a longer period of time, if that is what you are looking for, or need.
Ride quality is one of the smoothest, most supple rides in the industry.

Well I didn't change my skid this winter, but probably will this fall before next winter starts. Here is a video with stock setup skid on my 09/XP boosted sled at 9-10 lbs this day on spring snow. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6d25KN_C50&feature=plcp

Sweet vid and some nice pulls:thumb:

I think your gonna be shocked what that sled can do with a good coupling skid.... It looked like your skid was collapsing bad under the power, your tunnel looked like it was dragging in the hard snow couldn't imagine how bad it is in the soft stuff. There is way more to a good AF skid then just keeping the nose down.
