Turbo throttle response

well i rode mine for the first time today and i havent even started tuning anything and holly crap does it come on fast its a rear mount ?what turbo lag :)

tnitro

I got mine dialed today less than 1/2 second of lag while moving. Stopped no lag at all full 12lb. boost less than 50ft. Powder lites nitro stage 2.

Im turboing an 08 nytro and i am concerned about maintaining low end throttle response... what are your thoughts?

I have the exact same question. I came off a rear mount MCX RX1 and hated the lack of throttle response....you know, being able to blip the throttle to raise the front end. Apparently rear mounts on Nytros are only 27" downstream and are snappier because the turbo is closer to the head than the RX chassis but the intake plumbing is still pretty long. The Powderlites kit supposedly has very good throttle response thanks to modified cam timing and the use of the RB3 control box.

Try the Impulse system! Most responsive system out there for the Yammy's, bar none! No lag, recovers instantly, and very reliable.

Impulse T-kit

Let me say 1 word "WOW" my buddy travis have a stage 2 super charger (16-17 #)and i say side by side for the first 30-40 ft (12 #)after that he mite as well let off because i can't see him anymore this sled is flat ripps.:D:D:D

The impulse kit looks good i will give it alittle more time out on the market to prove it's reliable it is putty new.

I would not wait on the reliablity on the impulse kit, you may as well start enjoying it NOW. You will not be disappointed in it, I got rid of my t2stroke cause of throttle response and was leary of that on the 4's. I put the impulse on my nytro and the wow factor is unreal instant throtle response and hang on for all out power. The kit is VERY well built and Paul is top notch and will help you out in every way, and if upgrades come out for the kit he treats you well for the upgrades. You will not be disappointed period. Feel free to pm me with any questions you have.

The Impulse kit has just as much time if not more than any kit out there for the Nytro, I had mine istalled and running early last season (November 07), most of the other companys had not even sent out a kit yet. As far as throttle response, all I can say is its just right, its always there quickly.

Wondering how the Impulse headers are holding up. The 2 things that have always kept me away from front/mid mounts are the unreliability of the tube headers (not to mention what a pain they are to change) and all that heat cooped up in that small space. Good thing that Impulse moved the fuel tank.

I run the powderlites stage 2 and and with the RB3 box on there the response is REAL good even with only 9 pounds boost. I also was very worried about lag after driving another manufacter's rear mount.

Impulse.

i heard that some other brands were having problems with there headers, But the one that paul built is super strong.

And he added a turbo support to help.

The turbo hanger/support is a good idea. To quote someone else, all tube headers will fail. Its not a question of if but when. Metallurgy, vibration, and heat cycles all contribute to its demise. If a tube header lasts for a reasonable amount of time (like 2 seasons) thats OK in my book, just not into something that only lasts for a short time, after all even the stock exhaust components in a rear mount system may fail eventually. The cast manifold NW Turbos sells may solve this problem?
