Turbo Shifting? Loose Primary?

So on my 2008 M8 Race Gas Turbo 13 pounds boost, my sled started acting like it has several gears. It will sometimes act like it goes completely out of gear, like someone pulled in the clutch, other times it revs up pretty high but doesn't put all the power to the ground. Sometimes it seems to stay in this lower gear, revs up pretty high, but not much track speed. The track isn't ratcheting on the drives.
I've had diamond drives go out, it is not acting like this, no shuttering or gear grinding. Gears don't seem to be sliding on one another. It is more of a smooth transition. Like a clutch is involved. Only thing I could think of it that somehow the primary clutch might be spinning on the drive shaft? Has anyone had this happen?? Thoughts? Diamond drives don't have several gears right? I can't think of how that would work. I am running the bdx lite drives, 58/62 gearing...

Thanks

How does the belt look? Had a small hole in belly pan under the primary clutch on older sled, caused snow to blow up on primary... caused slipping belt. Might also check motor mounts.

I would bet money that your rollers in the primary are stuck or sticking and you now have some notched weights.. That is why it feels like its shifting.

I have to agree with the guy about snow flying in on the clutch had it happen a few years ago exact same symptoms it dosent take much of a hole or crack. If you had broken parts in the primary you would have consistent problems. Push on the plastic below the clutch chances are there is a crack on the edge.

Clutch

Went through the clutch, nothing is cracked, weights are centered, it's a bit dirty, so weights might be sticking, but nothing obvious. However, part of my belly pan came unscrewed and I am not running a belt cover because it was a little bent and rubbing on my belt... I bet that's it, snow. I'll but on the belt cover, screw back on the belly pan and see if it stops. Thanks guys
