TURBO PRO RMK Testing

Very Nice

Thanks for the video. The turbo looks/sounds like it is really running well. Keep us posted with results as you start running higher levels of boost. I am curious to see what people are able to get out of their kits.

Thanks again for posting. This thing looks awesome!

what kind of fuel were ya running? sounds pretty good. how did the engine look after that day? having good luck?

Thanks for the post Justin! Looking good!

Could you maby throw a stock sled in by all those turbos so we can see the differense?

Those prototypes, are they with or without muffler?

Thanks again!

I have a few questions . . .

Do you use a cold air intake on your kit?

Do you use a muffler of any kind? That sled sounds terribly loud in the video.

Are you having to add another injector or two to run boost levels over 6 lbs?

Will you be using an intercooler? Air to air? Water to air?

I would also like to see stock and turbo sleds side by side.

Do you see any issues with the hollow jackshaft holding up to higher boost levels?

Any problems with motor mounts breaking?

Gonna be an AWESOME season...Cheers!

looks wicked! is there any extra maintenance with a turbo? do you have to freshen up the engine more often or just when they let go full rebuild? did you guys beef anything up from stock? how long would a turbo last? i'm starting to think hard about turbo's! they look fun :face-icon-small-hap

Justin,
Left you a voicemail yesterday. Give me a call back so I can order one of these! Can't wait to be back on boost, especially on the new platform!

Someone else asked a couple questions, above, that I am interested in too.
Do you see any issues or signs of the Hollow jackshaft not holding up?
Does the Pro-RMK have sufficient cooling, with the single exchanger?
Have you had any motor mount issues, and what do you suggest?
Thanks

How is the reliability after putting a turbo on a 2 stroke?
HP?
$$ ?

Two strokes with boost are very reliable. As long as you run the recommended boost and octane levels.

Hp depends on elevation, boost pressure. The turbo kit has the ability to run up to 300 hp.

We have run these same sleds at 14-15 psi of boost, but honestly they are out of control, they will need some suspension changes as we couldnt do much besides wheelie all over the place.

Sorry we should posted some videos of a stocker too. But they dont stand a chance in the steep and deep compared to the turbos.

Yes these sleds have a muffler we have yet to do a db test on them. They sound loud as we dont add music to are videos to cover the sleds, we want you to be able to hear them and know they are working correctly.

I have a few questions . . .

Do you use a cold air intake on your kit? The intake is under the hood, which sits next to the vent on the side panel.

Do you use a muffler of any kind? That sled sounds terribly loud in the video.Yes there are mufflers on these setups. With the limited space on this chassis and to keep a 100% bolt on kit this is the best we could do.

Are you having to add another injector or two to run boost levels over 6 lbs?Yes this setup comes with secondary injectors, they are fitted in our billet throttle body boot. We were only able to get 4psi of boost on stock injectors.

Will you be using an intercooler? Air to air? Water to air?We are no longer offering the intercooler setup, we found a better solution that builds more hp, and makes them more responsive.

I would also like to see stock and turbo sleds side by side.Next time we are out west testing we will race a few stockers and film it.

Do you see any issues with the hollow jackshaft holding up to higher boost levels? The jackshaft has been fine as of now. We dont feel they will be a problem.

Any problems with motor mounts breaking? All of our test sled have yet to break a motor mount bolt. We must have got a good batch of bolts.

Gonna be an AWESOME season...Cheers!

Thanks
Justin

Only extra maintenance would be check your turbo oil level everyride. Other than that just your regulars they you should check.

We have been able to get thousands of miles on turbo polaris without rebuilds. But most people perfer to redo their topends once a season. A simple pistion check and compression check will tell you if its needed.

We dont beef up anything from the stock sled itself. Unless these motor mounts become a problem like some others have had.

How long would a turbo last? I could answer that in a million ways. But the turbocharger itself is designed to last 100,000's of miles.

Kestrel,

Sorry I missed your call, I just returned from testing out west, and have been in bed sick, I will start returning phone calls on Wed. if I start feeling better.

We havent had any jackshaft failures, and dont see it being a problem.

Yes the cooling on the sleds are enough. If running down the trail you have to run your scatchers otherwise they will overheat.

None of our test sleds have had a motor mount failure. If we start having failures we will design a fix. Our machinest is thinking about building some titanium bolts.

what was the "oh no" in the beginning of the last video? haha

Oh no, haha, That was my friend Jim, and he washed out carving up hill, than he had to roll the sled back down. He was having a good day, after hitting 2 trees after that.
