turbo pro air intake sensor brain fart

I bruised my ribs last ride so im laid up for a bit.. but if some one wants to take the air pressure sensor that was in our air box and put it into the suction end of our air intake. (not in your air box) we dont want it to sense boost! Just the actual air temp from out side. I may very well be wrong but it sensing warm air all the time would make the ecu try to compensate for air temp that is not true. It might be a improvement? It would ony be a matter of popping a little hole in the intake and wiring it to the side but it should stay dry? What are some thoughts on this idea?

but in this case isnt it better to read the actual charge temp? seems to me it would cause problems if the computer thinks its getting lots and lots of cold air but in reality its getting heated compressed air into the cylinders

I like this thought, silber must have played around with this?...

its a rubber charge tube, so what if you drill a hole in the charge tube and stick the sensor in...zip tie it on or something.

My only concern would be is how the sensor would act/hold up with 10 psi of air whipping past it...

If i can get my hands on another charge tube ill do it next ride.

I don't see how the temp of the air by the shock support (where the sensor is tied to w/ the turbo) and in the airstream is going to be that different. Will it always be exactly the same, no, but I have not seen any indication that it is negatively affected by it in any way.

A few of us have tried that. It has been the general consensus with those who's sleds are running good that it helped slightly. Not as much of a rich spot on the bottom end when under hood temps are high.

Being that it senses barometric pressure and needs to have a baseline the charge side of the system will show less pressure because of vacuum and cause issues.
Justin has tried it that way and it didnt work, so I have been told.
Through the grapvine Dobec told us to run it in the stock air box so it can get the best baseline......

So it was recomended that you put it in the stock intake plenum?
as the stock airbox is arrivederci lol.

My twisted setup has it in the intake tube to the turbo. I know it supposedly won't work the high velocities, but it does. I have taken it out and put it under the hood with no real difference. I run it in the intake because I have a fresh air system.

Ok. So here's one to think about. If its under the hood like we have it and the temp under the hood is 40 c wouldnt the sled try to lean itself out to compansate causing alot of the bottom end lean issues? Just a thought

That is the way I understood it yes.

In the stock air box. As in what is left of your stock intake.....wtf are you asking?
Arriverci? Or are you trying to type on your phone too?

He is asking where do you put it since the portion it was in on stock intake was removed when turbo was installed.

Arrivederchi I always took it as goodbye in French I believe

That word means gone in italian.. Never heard it before I guess.

And what I'm saying how are you plugging in to the airbox when it's not even on the sled anymore...
What's left is a plenum

Are you Fin kidding me? You are arguing over what part of the intake track that remains, and what I call it? :nerd:
