I have an 08' w/ a stage 2 powderlites kit and was told by a few people that I will hate the small tank and always run out.My last sled was a 09'M1000 piped and was woundering how much worse the milage will be. Not complaning about milage just want to be prepared with extra gas.

My sled will do 50 to 60 miles on the stock tank in heavy deep snow....I pack a 2.5 and have room for another 2.5 for spring deep long days....The trail tank is junk IMO even the newest version doesnt fit very well and will screw up all your plastic fitement!!

small tank is fine. I take a 5 gallon up and always have more fuel left than the doo's i ride with. Like Thistle said trail tank fit and finish is junk. This is on an MCX 270 kit.

I can vouch for the trail tank fitting like crap. I was pretty angry when I dropped that much money on my kit to have it look and fit like poodoo. I can't really fault boondocker since they don't make it, but the trail tank folks could have done a lot better.

If you turn your hindle muffler around so the exhaust exits straight up, the gas can from a REV XP fits nicely behind. Dave from hurricane takes the hindle drills out the rivits, cuts it in half then re-assembles. This gives you a nice short clean look. Never done it myself, but he said theres plenty of room after you do that.
