Turbo Nytro Eating Drivers

I am hoping anyone can help me with this one, my turbo nytro running 14# on stock drivers lasted 400 miles then they spun. I went to the avid drivers first ride out 10 miles they spun??? The track is tight no sag and it is not ratcheting . getting, towed out sucks. Thanks

Also, make sure you run scratchers in hard snow conditions, the heat from the clips transfers to the plastic,it softens and spins. As mike says, run your track tighter, the extra power of the turbo tend make the track come off the drivers sooner,so there isn't as much surface and driver lugs gripping the track,so it puts more stress on the lugs that are hooking up.

the 2 posts above know what they are talking about. I had my track almost banjo string tight. now that I run the m-10, the track sags about 4-6 inches and I have no probs with stock drivers. going on 800 plus miles, look great still.

He's not talking about "ratcheting"....his drivers actually spun on the driveshaft.

Changed to Avid's...did it again.

Anyone else having this prob?

thanks

A loose track will ratchet and then when it catches it will spin on the drive shaft, so its most likely loose track, I tighten by track until the top of the inside lugs are even with the wear mark on the slides, and check it after every ride, you will have to tighten often until it gets done stretching.

Oh!! Somehow you're getting heat transferring through the shaft, maybe the shaft is not true,or perhaps a bearing is tight, but I would think the bearing would fail first, another thing is when you put them on make the the phasing is perfect, the old Maverick drivers used to be out phase ever so slightly. But I would have the shaft checked for run out.

That is really weird. If it has happened twice with 2 different drivers. It must be a drive shaft issue. Hopefully the warranty will cover it.

When you put the drivers on the shaft, put the drive shaft on the floor and see if it rocks,it should sit flat with no rocking,a wee bit of rocking is almost unavoidable, but not excessive.

when you bought youre avids did you make sure you orderd the proper shaft size for youre sled ? if youre un happy with youre avids call curtis at tracks canada he was trying to sell me a set of drivers earlier this year that were better than avids , appently he wont sell avids to any one running over 250hp now ??

Tnanks avid is shipping me a new set for free., I am going to put them on again if these one,s fail I will have to go to plan b.The only thing we can think of is that avid might had sent us a set for a diffrent machine with a smaller shaft causing mine to oblong out.I will let you know the outcome .
