Turbo Nytro back on the flat lands

I currently have a ported M1000 thats a strong n/a runner. This season i really wanted to upgrade to a turbo nytro.

But there is a very good chance ill be moving back to Ontario for a different job a year from now.

Now if i drop 20-25g on a new Nytro & 180 to 300hp turbo kit, if i were to take it back to sea level could i make it run there with any amount of boost and not 100% race fuel?

Has any one taken there sled back to the flat land and how did it run?

Advice is appericated wouldnt want to get used to a 270 kit then find out its impossible to make work at sea level, buy a stock short track Nytro and get smoked by my friends 200hp n/a Cat trail runners.

Ya can run a Impulse Turbo kit with head shim and run a good amount off boost at sea level. Complete stand alone injection and now with timing control. Dont get much better and if you want to push the limits with pump gas it would be hard to beat!

my dads turbo nytro is the 270 kit, he ran pump gas @3000ft in sask and it worked but did eventually blow a gasket from a little teething issue, mcx 270, low comp pistons, pump mixed 60/40 with av gas and i would say go for it.

I have an Alpine T-Nytro and ride it half in BC and half at home in Sask. It works great both places although 2.5" track can be a little much for stubble fields :face-icon-small-ton

I have a Boost It fuel system on mine and have run it at 12lbs ish around home on premium and never had a problem with it. Absolutely rips your arms. Could turn it up higher with AV gas but there's no real need even at 12lbs. Depends on what the price of premium vs AV gas too.

Oh and mine's for sale so you dont have to drop 25g:face-icon-small-hap

who currently makes standalone kits for the Nytro and how much?

and while were talking money what does the boost it kit go for?

PM Neil (NM) on here and he'll answer all questions on the Boost It system and give you a price. Besides the M10, the Boost It system was the best addition I put on my T-Nytro.

I would run a manual boost controller like the hallman, I use the turbosmart e-boost2 it works quite well with the MCX system. I am running 14.5 lbs at 1800 ft. with no problems. With a couple button pushes you can take it from 10 lbs to 21 lbs..

Impulse Turbo kit $6700.00

Mid-mounted Garrett GT2860RS Turbo
Short, responsive 3 into 1 stainless header
High flow intercooler
Short stainless downpipe
10 gallon fuel capacity
Standalone fuel injection controller
Surge tank and high flow fuel system
750cc Fuel Injectors
50mm Tial Q Blow-Off Valve
Head shim

i run 10 psi pump and 15 psi av gas on a built engine and a 2860rs turbo in saskatchewan, its plenty of power on the flats...

The new Boost-It website should up and running soon. There will be lots of info, and pricing.
Running boost is relative to atmospheric pressure, so it would just be a matter of turning the boost down to compensate for the lower elevation.

thanks for the boost it site info.

now what about the standalone, how much do they run by them self?

i've seen the standalone box sell for 1400. I don;t think standalones are completely fool proof they are somewhat new to this market and there is not many out yet. I would rather having some simple like the boost it system where a guy can easily just 1 or 2 things to make the sled run well in case it goes awry. if a standalone starts messin up, either get towed in or whip that laptop outta your back pocket and start messin with maps.

Not sayin standalones are bad, as i have heard good things and they the cats meow when a guy wants a no bull ride. but it is something to think about.

Flatland TNytro

'09 nytro MCX 180 kit. Picked it up last November from Utah. had 700 miles, now showing 3200 miles. 9 ish pounds of boost on premium. Running all over Michigan.. No problems running 200 miles per day, only changes were suspension setups... You'll like the 42 inch front end in the trails...

Head shim? or stock motor?

180 uses stock motor

I was wondering because he said he was at 9 PSI, thought 180 ran around 6 PSI. I was hoping to run around 9-10 PSI this winter (flatlands) but I dont want to open the motor yet. I was not sure if it was possible.

Pretty sure the kit is set at 8 psi. You gotta remember 9-10psi at elevation would be similar power to 7-8 psi in low elevations. This is running pump gas. Mix in a little bit of av gas for safety and run 10psi all day at low elevations

If you consider goin with a supercharger you can change the pulleys for sea level and elevation to keep running what you want for boost, and if you dont want to run race fuel. Good luck with your decisions.
