Turbo m7 guys a ??? for you

Turboing a M7 maybe..... is there a pump gas kit available out there?? Has to be 100% pump gas though because I don't want to have to worry about finding race fuel. Has anyone done a kit themselves that they have pieced together?? Any info would be good. I was gonna buy a new sled next year but figured my M only has 1500 miles on the chassis and only 1200 on the BB so figured i could sell my BB and put that money towards a turbo kit. If not may have to look at a EWWWWWWW nytro.

Are you putting a production kit together or just one for yourself?? I like my little M but like I said instaed of buying a new sled I just may improve this one some more.

I just got done putting my own turbo on my 06 m7 (rs 800) and can shed a little light for you. First, I would say that if you want to go 100% PG I would look for a late model M8 with det sensor. I am chicken of running straight pump in my sled, haven't even gotten it tuned yet, but know that one slip equals det and trashed top end, not to mention stress on crank. M7 electrical must be altered to make it work very well also and M8 doesn't need anything special. I plan to run 100LL and feel confident tuning sleds, this isn't an easy deal. I have seen many PG m8's and they are a really reliable turnkey sled. I just didn't have the coin to shell out for a sled and a new PG kit. You can see what I built out of the trash pile in the turbo section. Hope this helps

Yeah i figured someone would say that and confirm my "pushed aside thoughts" but I figured I'd ask anyways. I think you're right though about going to a M8 probably be a better fit.

I checked into turboing my m7 because I really like the sled and thought I would like a pump gas kit. It seemed like it would be over $4000 for a pump kit and be running 190-200 hp. A full race gas kit done the right way complete is right at $6000 for 270 hp. To me it seems that if you are dropping that much money on it you might as well be safe and use race fuel and then if that is the case you might as well go for the race gas kit and more power. If you do it right I think an m7 would make a good turbo sled because they were light and pretty durable, but it is pricy. After riding my dads 09 m1000 with much more minor mods at 200hp, it seems like a better route to go and keep the old reliable 7 for a backup sled.
