Whats a good one to use? This would be going on a Garret 2860 with 3" silicon piping ...

Not real confident in running just a prefilter on this again with as much belt dust as these things make.

I've got one of each, prefilter, and K&N type filter on our sleds. Both work, but I prefer the boondocker filter.

I got belt dust in my intercooler from only running the prefilter BD sent me.

Not gonna do it that way again.

Just put a K&N style filter on there then. It's heavier & doesn't flow quite as well but it'll keep the belt dust from your innerheater.:face-icon-small-win

Where can I buy a k&n filter? Is it a special filter or just a basic k&n filter? Can I just go get a 3 in k&n filter from napa?

Can't think of why not.

On the cutler setup I needed a 90 degree adapter, but on most BD setups I'm sure you'll just slap it right on.

hellifiknow... I just run a prefilter without the K&N, I felt like the K&N lost a touch of power.

If you just need a new prefilter, BD doesn't charge that much for them, I just got mine from them.

K&N to restrictive

We sell these that fit right on.

MM...

Dogmeat got some of his gold bond powder in his innerheater, so he wants a K&N now...:face-icon-small-sho:face-icon-small-sho:boxing::boxing:

I'd rather double up prefilter material than put another K&N on it.

How much for just the prefilter btw? Mine is in a tight spot & has a couple tears in it.

Take that crap off

If you get some header wrap and wrap that stuff or just remove it and put wrap on then put your shields back on the gold bond is gone.

And you can double but should not need to.

K&Ns are OK until you get them wet on a humid or powder day...then they restrict...sometimes badly. Seen plenty of people run the pre filter material for many many miles and they don't clog on wet powder days.
