If you want put -2 key, don't forget that your EGT will go up.
IMHO
Not always,
most of the time retarding the timing will burn more fuel on the way out the pipe than in the cylinder so the egts will go up. So if there is any deto happening the egts can read lower because the heat gets absorbed in the cylinder and is cooler on the way out, to much fuel leaving the cylinder can cause higher egts because it burns some of it as it leaves the cylinder into the pipe. If you put in a -2* key and the temps go up you have a tuning issue or possibly you had some deto happening. 25% deto is not uncommon and usually wont hurt anything its when the deto gets to the 75%+ that is starts to really do damage. I think a good tuned sled on the right boost and fuel wouldn't change much with a -2* key.
There is also the factor of the stock pipe sensor, and no one seems to really know what it does for sure. I think it can control timing and fuel, if it does a key will have an effect on it as the ecu has a set program for timing running with the pipe sensor so it may try and over ride the key in some ways changing the fuel and timing characteristics. This is Complete speculation on on the pipe sensor but something to think about.
