Turbo comparisons

Ok so I can't decided which way to go on buying a new turbo kit. I've had a twisted kit, ran awesome and flawless.
That being said, I'm kinda curious about all these other turbos. CPc, Ovs(rg vs. propane.), aerocharger ....how are all these turbos comparing to one another?

I like the looks of Ovs kits, sound like a solid choice. Is the propane worth the extra$? What kind of boost can be run with propane?

What's the benefit of aerocharger? They spool faster?

Tell me cpc's selling points.

I'm just looking for more rider input/info on all these kits. I've been on all the sites and talked to the builders, but what do YOU guys think and what are you seeing on the hill? What's the best bang for my $6000 bucks lol

I'll be putting whichever kit I end up buying on a 2011 m8----0 miles.

Hahaha!!!

Yeah I've ran CPC, loved it, ran flawless, no issues. If I bought another 800 I would go with Cutler's kit again.

very true

i guess maybe im just searching for a but more turbo education. right now all i know about turbo's is i NEED it on my sled and once in a while i have to press buttons on the box with christmas lights that flash :face-icon-small-ton

whats the benefit of all of tial external wastegates and turbo housings?

can anyone elaborate on ovs propane kit over a rg kit a little bit... what would i gain having a propane kit over a rg kit? what would i lose?

why do aerochargers run lower boost and compare to kits on higher boost? or is this just their sales tactic

sorry for all the dumb questions, just figured id ask before i buy what i already know works in case their is something undoubtedly better...

If what you have works stay with that. Stay with what your buddies ride or the one your dealer supports

whats the benefit of all of tial external wastegates and turbo housings?Tial builds more moost at the same PSI

can anyone elaborate on ovs propane kit over a rg kit a little bit ..Propane is a sweet set up. Does not feel as torqueee as a race gas unit but side by side a race gas running same boost they are quite even. what would i gain having a propane kit over a rg kit?In canada the propane will cost you $30 bucks to fill and the race gas will cost you $150 what would i lose? The cost of the propane kit is more and you will have to learn how to fill yourself and carry some big propane bottles in your trailer or the back of your truck.

why do aerochargers run lower boost and compare to kits on higher boost? or is this just their sales tactic Who knows about that???? I have run a garrett tial OVS race gas against an OVS Aero rg kit and did not notice this difference

IMO unless you want to run huge boost all the time, propane isnt the way to go, and there are definately some nuances to filling etc i learned about running it on a yami motor for 1.5 seasons. if your running straight 110 in your sled normally the cost savings do add up fast over a long season.

as far as kits, everyone you listed had a really strong running M series kit. IMO, twisted is the cleanest and setup the best built performance wise. also, you know your way around the kit and tuning, etc so your ahead in that front.

IMO stick with what you know, but I also would not be afraid to run any of the kits you mentioned.

FACT.
aero 66, 350 hp @ 26 psi xcr triple
garrett 3076, 423 hp @ 14.7 psi xcr triple.

aero 66 mach z 1250 cc , 311 hp @ 15 psi
garrett 3076 mach z 1250 cc, 308 hp @7 psi

Now again you want to ask that,, who makes more power per pound of boost ??
ANY dyno anywhere,, I am up for the challenge, so far not 1 single brand x turbo has stepped up on any cc sled to prove themselves.

FEAR.. check the car facts..LOL

Only 423 HP Gus? You should turn up the boost some & start making some real horsepower!!:face-icon-small-ton

Run whichever kit you trust & have help with.

I like my CPC turbos I've run, they're very user friendly, and I spend my time riding not tuning.

That said, I'm sure I'd be fine with whatever turbo I had if I had good support if there ever was an issue.

They're all pretty darn good these days, but I'd stick with twisted.

Oh, and I've ridden propane, it does some cool stuff, but I would never buy one myself.

Yeah, they can make big boost, but they seem to run about 1-2 psi lower power wise compared to gas (takes 14 psi to run with 12), the tanks are heavy & big, the front end is heavy, and it's a pain to deal with.

In THEORY, I'm a big fan but it needs a lot of work to be a sled that would work for most people. (smaller, lighter tank that fits under the seat, lighter reg, easier filling...)
