turbo apex or turbo nytro?

If you really want to keep your XP you should buy an Apex. Get a Nytro dialed in and your XP will be gone ;)
i am not a brand loyal guy..i ride whatever is a good deal or works..xp has been good to me, but they are built cheap. i have owned all brands..I HATE CATS. just because we always cut trips short wrenching on them... dont want this thread to be a wich brand is better thing....i need to decide wich is a better hill sled..nytro or apex..
sorry if i pissed some cat rider off...took my cool parking lot green gear and matching underwear off a long time ago...:D
SO apex or nytro? is the newer apex better then the 06. didnt think they really changed much 06 till now. seems like the nytro is not as balanced as the apex? come on guys. tell me why you love the nytro over the apex?

I'm getting back into sledding, and just picked up my 4rth turbo apex. My last sled was a tnytro, and it honestly felt like it pulled harder then my apex's did, but I just like the feel of the apex chassis.
why? easier to ride? seems like the nytro jumps alot better ,but harder to point it were you want to go and keep that line?i am still leaning towards a nytro..even have a offer on one.just have my mind thinking.....

The Apex is "easier " to ride, it's more of a handling thing. Once you put the time in on the Nytro it is a much more nimble sled but it does require more input from the rider. Apex is more popular with Polaris and Cat riders and Nytro with Doo (Rev and XP) riders (rider forward) When I first switched I was ready to go back to the Apex for about 600km but now I prefer the quicker handling Nytro. I have had 2 turbo Apexes and 2 turbo Nytros and my current Nytro is just about 620lbs full of everything (that's about the same as a ready to ride M1000) It is running about 270hp and has a 162 X 16 2.5 track. A similar boosted Nytro is quicker than a boosted Apex, although the Apex is capable of a lot more power before engine work. The Apex is a rock solid performer with a good turbo on it and there are some ridiculous deals on them, which don't make a lot of sense for what they are worth and the dependability. When I said your XP would be gone it was because of the handling characteristics, nothing to do with brand bashing, I just don't think you will ride the XP if you have the Nytro as they are similar handling (most say the Nytro handles better but I have minimal seat time) I don't even have to start on the reliability differences, especially boosted

IMO if your coming from an XP and you like it and liked how it felt, then there is no other choice for you then a Nytro. I don't know how you could go from rider forward then back to "old school" ride. I know that I couldn't.

Cr M10

where is that? i woulda done that along time ago. a Cr10 is 5 grand CANADIAN funds.
I always thought they were more too. But....they are available for around $3,000 in Canada. About the same as EzRyde and slightly more than Timbersled. PM me if you like. No...I'm not selling them.
I noticed an XR1200 with PL turbo and almost no miles in the swap meet for $16,000us. If its ready for the mt's I think its a hell of a buy. If its not then its still a skid and a track away from being ready.
I doubt there are many builders of turbo sleds getting anywhere close to their money back when they sell. Likely half the investment less normal depreciation for the actual sled. Next sled for me will be someones well built turbo at about half the cost of buying and doing my own.

Like sly said, the nytro is a sled that needs alot of input as far as riding it. the nytro was more fun to ride, but you have to be prepared to ride the crap out of it aggresivley. the apex is more of a stable sled to ride and dont' need as much input to make it do what you want. I would almost say with your username that you would enjoy the nytro more. For going down the trails the apex gets my vote and for hillclimbing. the nytro down the trail and slower techinical riding was a little to figity for me, but when you get into powder booning and technical riding with a little more speed the nytro shines.

Alot of guys get caught up in which sled is going to climb higher and which one will make it up certain chutes. watch any of the new vids out and you will see they both do a great job. I never really gave my tnytro a chance(sold it with 250 kms on it) I just remember my arms being alot more tired hanging onto the nytro then my apex. find the best deal and you will enjoy either sled.

the fast m-10 will be around 3000 bucks. a cr m-10 or racers edge will be pushing 5-6 g's.

My wife and I owed one of each... she had the TNytro and I the Apex... The Nytro worked her all day long and we could only make it 2-3 hours before she was out of energy. She got a TApex and now she's back to riding all day. The TNytro was fun and the power felt great... just a completly different animal. If you're use to a XP then you might like it... I have a hard time on Skidoo's as well.

i will say the 09 xtx was a whole new sled once we changed the ski's..night and day..i switched off my xp and rode the xtx and i took it right home and did some tuning..the thing threw you all over riding down the trail.i changed ski's and changed ski pressure, aligned the front end and wow a whole new sled...both my xp"s took some setup to get it right also.the big diffrence between riding the two back to back is the noticable weight diffrence.i feel like the xp is like riding my motocross bike. both the apex's i had were just get on turn the key and ride...took some work to lay them over but they were very predictable.i think a apex can make a average guy good. but a nytro can make him feel dumb if not rode with the agressivness that chassie is built for.i am keeping my xp, so a nytro seems like the right choice if i am switching back and forth.but the prices on the turbo apex is so tempting.....

so how does that turbo xr run compared to the yamaha's? still think they have a few years of work before they are at the reliability and performance of the apex and nytro.just my 2 cents.....
