I spent the last few months pouring through these Snowest Turbo threads and have learned a ton. There are many knowlegable members that are very willing to offer solid advice. Some are professionals in the industry and some are addicts that spend the summer on snowest to get their "fix". (guilty)
Your decision weather or not to Turbo an '09 will be difficult and if you spend enough time reading these threads you will find whatever answer your looking for.
Heres a sample of what i learned, I hope this helps...
Turbo it!, Dont turbo it, buy this Turbo, buy that turbo, get a 4 stroke, Turbo's are unreliable, Turbo IQ's are MORE reliable than NA IQ's, If you turbo it you'll need to do thi$, and thi$, and thi$ to make it work, once you ride a turbo you will never be able to go back to a stock sled, a stock Skidoo will beat a Turbo dragon, WHAT? (stay in the SKIDOE thread!) Keep it around 8# of boost to keep it rideable, dont bother with a Turbo unless you run at least 12# boost, run pump gas, run AV gas, run Race gas, mix gas like this XXXX you wont be able to sell it, you wont want to sell it, part it out, keep it for a spare, sell it and buy a PRO. Turbo PRO??
The great thing about this sport is its tough to go wrong if youve got a reliable sled come winter. I agree with the DO IT RIGHT statement above.
I think when deciding what to ride you should consider your abilities (both riding and mechanical), as well as the support you have from riding buddies and your local dealers.
My advice: If you want a Turbo Dragon there are alot of really trick sleds out there built by guys that know for a fraction of what was invested in them.
This spring I traded my NA '09 155 Dragon and some $$$ for a Sweet '09 Turbo Dragon 163. It's all decked out: Boondocker Race Gas Turbo, EGT's, Timbersled Mtn Tamer rear with Fox Floats, anti ratchet drivers, new Extream 163x2.5 track, Zbros Front end, Powder pros Etc. This sled has over $25k invested, and only about 1000 miles. Although its becoming a dated chassis I cant wait to ride it!
(or trade it for a PRO??) LOL
