Turbo 2 vs Turbo 4? Is it settled yet?

I know this has been an ongoing topic for a couple years now since the Cats, and now the Poos take well too turbos.
Well at the end of the day which sled actually will go up a hill better with deep pow? I am not talking on paper either, I mean real world side by side.

From what we seen on Sunday in Monster bowl, it looks like the 4 strokes still rule the Deep snow.
This is not by any means a bashing thread, I just think that there are people that want to know.

Coming from a two stroke turbo builder. The 4 strokes are still king of the hill in my eyes, I ride with a few yamaha turbo and they are great performers in all conditions. But dont over look the two strokes, most of them you can get away with just adding the turbo kit and be done, and have a great all around sled that will take people places they dont want to go. Reliability of the two are around the same. Either way once you go Boost you will never look back, two or four stroke.

Were there any 1000's or 1200 turbos there? As far as the 800's go, I don't think they will go with the #18+ 4 strokes in anyones dream.

From experience, I had to work on my boosted apex to much, I have yet to do anything major to my Dragon just look it over sometimes. I agree no way can they handle big boost like the 4 strokes, and long term reliability 4 strokes win, but you can easily get a full riding season from a two stroke without doing any motor work, as long as you have a good tune.

WOW... not exactly my expectations of reliability... I would hope to not touch an engine for 2000-3000 miles (minimum!). That is how I would label it reliable! Maybe that is just me!

I really wish I could lay out the cash for both! turbo m8 would be one fun boonsmockin machine no doubt but its not like I have any trouble on my 174nytro anyway. When is comes to climbing the big stuff I see no competion out of the two strokes. Nice work out of Stanger the other day to follow us up monster on his 1200twisted though! As far as reliability I doubt the two are even comparable but ive only owned a 4 stroke turbo so ill keep my big mouth shut!

Yep its settled. If you want to be the fastest up the mountain or climb the sickest chute get a turbo 4 stroke. If you want the funnest boondockable all around sled get a lw turbo 2stroke.

Although, I saw Dale fire up this beast today so maybe its not so settled.....

Behold the CPC 1300

Why would it ever be settled? Everybody has different preferences in sled feel and different riding styles. I prefer my very agile 2 stroke turbo. Reliability has to go to the 4 stroke, but I still don't want one.

Why would it ever be settled? Everbody has different preferences in sled feel and different riding styles. I prefer my smooth running, high revvin', huge powerband, arss kickin' powerful 4 stroke turbo. Rowboat agility has to go to the two stroke, but I still don't want one.

snoughnut.

So what would it be like if somone turbo'd a KTM 525 dirt bike and threw a 2-Moto kit on it? :D

Thats Brett's Husaberg. Brad Storey turbo setup. Brett said it was 110 hp. Thats a pretty good power to weight ratio!

Coming soon, aparently. RMZ though.

Suzuki RM-Z 450 EFI
We are currently working on a turbocharger kit for the RM-Z 450. We will offer two kits, one for a stock bike running a rear tire and a second for a bike equipped with a 2Moto snow kit. Keep checking back for updates on this exciting project.

IMO if I had the cash to get a boosted sled I'd probably get a TM8, I wouldn't want to go where the big HP 4s sleds are going, and I'm not in good enough shape to dig one out. ( but I can't afford either, so who cares )

I think what Neil is trying to say, is that every year some one says that there light weight 2 stroke turbo is going to kick the heavy 4 stroke turbo's butt in the steep and deep. Just have not seen it happen yet! :beer; If you would like to try we will be at Yama fest. Bring on the pow!

wow it is all about the rider the four strokes make big power wow they still weigh more then those two fat girls and there truck put together. two stokes fun lite nimble and with boost can take you to a lot of places you sometimes dont want to be. its just like the dirt bike four or two it will only end went they get rid of all two strokes like the bikes and force use to go green
