Turbo 1140

Well the 1140 that is going to canada was Jack Struthers personal sled. I guess it has Holtz tunnel and everything else you can put on it. Mine is just a plain jane 05 with a few mods done. I just picked it up.

As for the charge tube I'll probably stay with my design that I've always done. With fitting in a much larger pipe I'm sure space is going to get even tighter in that chasie. I like how the center charge works and it does look clean for sure but I also have a few new ideas. Guess we'll just see where my imagination goes when I start. Thats the fun part.
 
Yah i agree i think that your charge tube keeps the tube away from the pipe a bit more and will keep the temps down a lil more yet....but the center dump does look clean

hey derek you still thinkin of doing the 3071 or gonna go bigger?
 
I also broke the front mount crossmember on my 900. Here's an option that may hold up better to the beast you're building.

The 1140 kits have to go on 05 motors. Plus with a 200HP 1140 and a turbo on top of that the injectors are a must. As for holding the motor in it should be fine. Havent broke a mount or anything yet. But I will be doing a little extra bracing.

As for the bottom end its stock on mine and the other has the updated polaris crank. Havent broke a crank yet with the turbo's so I guess this will be the true test.

I didn't know the stock bottom end could handle something like that. Are you going to do any cryotreating or anything?
 
Derek as you can see from the pics on my page the 1140 does not take up much more room than what the 900 does. As for the mounts here is some pics of a kit I got my hands on that will tie that engine down as you can see in Jack machine they are already in there. I can bring a set down when I come down to pick up the sled I have a few sets already built and can get more.

That is the same mounts that I used in my 1140 build. Could not believe how much less vibration it had with these mounts.

Where are you getting those from? How much do they cost? How hard to install? I am interested in some.
 
Those were a limited build from Holz.... for Struthers from what I understand...

NO longer available... pretty pricey to boot and NO instructions.

I have 4 sets of these motor mounts. 2 sets which are going on my sleds and 1 set is spoke for and if there is more people out there that want them I can have more made. Oh yes there is inst. and a list of parts you can buy from polaris or go after market. Sorry Derek not trying to hijack your sight.

A regular stocker 900 turbo turns out right around 265....1140 with boost will be closer to the 300 range....

if all your lookin for is 35hp... why not just turn up the boost some? Your going from a stock motor that you can pretty much get parts anywhere to a sled with specialized parts. Neither of those numbers can be the sled maxed out...

Sounds incredible but unless your not getting enough out of the 900 @ 20lbs, then it doesnt make sense to me... sorry.
 
2POOR ya bring me a set of those when ya come down that would be great.

As for the crank holding up time will tell I havent broke one yet lol.

As for why the 1140 over the 866 or 975. Yes you could turn the boost up but I just want a monster. Plus if ya ride a 700 turbo vs 800 theres a great diffrence. Also a M1000 vs a 1200 turbo is a great diffrence boost for boost. I just want a nasty a$$ machine thats all.:beer;:beer;
 
I have the same mounts in my 975. They work awesome!
Since you where going to do a turbo for a 975...mine doesn't have one:face-icon-small-win

yah you can turn the boost up, but my sled is pretty much maxed out at 12lbs and straight VP 114....dave already took 15,000's out of the head and not much more boost is possible via "just turning the boost up"....but i understand your thought process too....it does seem crazy for 30-40 hp...but then again its Derek Fischer, i mean come on he builds Polaris 900 RMK Turbos...knowone else is that retarded thats why we all envy him haha:beer;:)
