Turbo 1140

Well I guess its time for a new challenge. Well Two I guess. Starting friday there will be two 1140 polaris turbo's being built. These two sleds should be the higest HP Polaris turbo EFI sleds built. I will be posting pics of these builds and how they are comming along. As of now this is what will be done.

Extra injectors added in the throttle bodies
Custom single 1140 turbo pipes and y pipes
1140 motor kits form Carls Cycle Sales
Custom heads to be made
High flow fuel pump

I'm also sure we will have to install 4 post clutches to get enough weight in the monsters the 900 can nearly throw 90 gram weights. This should be some fun getting these babies to run.

One of these sleds will be heading to Canada and my personal sled will be built and run this year and sold later in the season. I'm sure some of you 900 Polaris fans will have big grins on your face also like I do when these monsters are built and breath fire. Here kitty kitty:D;)

Wow ... what kind of power are you expecting? 250 -300 at 12 pounds?

Have you looked at propane?

you cant run a full propane 2 stroke because its in gas state it will not cool the two strokes enough where as gas is in liquid state it helps cool the motor when its injected

And to think i was just going to turbo the 975 ?? Now i have more ideas to think about this winter. This will be a monster tractor can't wait to see how it runs. Keep us updated on the project.:D:D:D

A regular stocker 900 turbo turns out right around 265....1140 with boost will be closer to the 300 range....

The number for HP should be 300 on 10-12 lbs of boost. It will for sure be a arm stretching tractor with some killer track speed. I dont have a number for MPH with track speed but it should be nasty. I really wasnt wild about doing a 1140 since I have to run extra injectors, build a pipe and y pipe and etc. But I got a call to build one and it excited me. Then he talked to some other people and they said it couldnt be done and wouldnt run. Guess thats all I needed for motavation to start on the project. Then I figured if I was going to all this work to build one I might as build me a 1140 instead of a 975. So now there will be two in the works, LOL. :D

Less posting. More working!! I want to see pics of the finished product!! lol. Where did you find the parts for the 1140's? What bottom end are you going with? Will that front crossmember like a turbo 1140 pushing on it? I'm guessing it won't... Mine broke and all I have is a 'lil 'ol 975. Why would you need extra injectors? Won't the 4 in the 06's be enough? Or are you building an 05?

The 1140 kits have to go on 05 motors. Plus with a 200HP 1140 and a turbo on top of that the injectors are a must. As for holding the motor in it should be fine. Havent broke a mount or anything yet. But I will be doing a little extra bracing.

As for the bottom end its stock on mine and the other has the updated polaris crank. Havent broke a crank yet with the turbo's so I guess this will be the true test.

Why did they say it wouldnt work? If you start with blank cylinders and port it properly, I dont see any reason why it wouldnt work...

I'd install that beast in a new RAW chassis... a bit of $$... but worth it IMO..Not too difficult either.... just have to have a roller to do it in.!

I really liked the center feed airbox on Himarks project ... super clean.

Are you going to adapt the Mikuni TB's with injectors from the cats?

Did you buy the 1140 174" from Super Dave3? That sukka was already decked out to the hilt!!

I also broke the front mount crossmember on my 900. Here's an option that may hold up better to the beast you're building.

Edit; Sorry for the small pics. I'm still trying to figure it out. Just too old school I guess.
