Turbo 101.

I have been reading every post I can to learn more about turbo's, but some of the terms are over my head.

1. What is the Trim? I know both intake and exhaust have it. For example (56 trim)?
2. What does a/r stand for? (.86 A/R) Again I know both in. and ex. have it.
3. How do you adjust the boost on a turbo? Is a turbo capable of X amount of boost, and then you turn it down to what you want by using a waste gate or something simular?

This might be answered somewhere, or maybe it is comon sense, but I can't seam to find it. I just want to understand it a little before I jump in.

after reading turbo tech 101, read 102, and 103. this should give you a good basic understanding of turbo's.
