I want to wrap my tunnel to keep snow from sticking to it.I Like the look of Matte Black others have put on theirs.Looked thru about 10 pages but couldn't find a link to a supplier other than a sign shop.
Been looking at Ebay but not sure what thickness or brand others have used.Someone please send me a link or recommendation as to who you bought from.

Thanks,Pete

have not finished with mine yet. just done the sides so far, but am planning to wrap the top later this week when i get home if the material has been sent out. takes a little time and care, but i used some 3M CF wrap. actually has a textured feel to it. hit it with a tiny bit of heat from a heat gun and it softened and allowed it to draw into little details if you rubbed your fingers on it. link to supplier below...http://www.vinyldecals.com/wrap-vinyl-material/black-carbon-fiber-3m-1080-wrap-film-vinyl.html

I picked up my vinyl from http://www.stickercity.com/Car-Wraps/

It takes patience to install a tunnel wrap so be prepared.

I just bought mine off of eBay from a company called Lousiville Graphics. I wrapped the bumpers on my pickup, tunnel and windshield on my sled and I haven't had any troubles with it yet. It is pretty thin stuff but it seems to stick well, we'll see how it holds up on the tunnel.

Just go to your local sign company they usually use good vinyl. Mine held up on my old xp for 2 seasons with little damage.

id go with 3M vinyl its a lil more expensive but worth it..easiest to install..it alows air to escape so less bubbles..resists uv rays so dsnt fade..and safe temp rang from -30 - 225 degrees, so safe to go over the coolers.. i paid $75 off ebay for 60" x 48" of matte black it took almost all of it

Is the vinyl that arcticfx or other wrap companies use heavier duty or more durable than the vinyl you can order online?

Yes, but because the printed wraps have a heavy-duty over-laminate on them.
Vinyls that are solid-color vinyls like the 3M stuff, is a single-layer with no laminate.
Material with laminate will always hold up better than the solid color stuff.

One thing to keep in mind is that the CF and Matte wrap vinyls scratch and mar very easily and its permanent after it happens. Plus the snow will stick way more to these.
Gloss laminated material will shy snow off 3 times more.

Yes, make sure they laminate the vinyl first - protects against wear. I went to a big named sign shop and had them show me some solid white vinyl (unlaminated) and it was very thin.

very nice jonce. clean. might get lost on a powder day! looks like you put just some circular cutouts on the knee strike parts of the dash? where did you get those? when are you coming out west to ride?

Thanks. I made all my own vents (aka Bent Vents). Build thread here: http://www.snowestonline.com/forum/showthread.php?t=281727

Heading out to Buena Vista, CO next week to ride the new sled :D

Didn't mean to highjack guys, sorry.

no worries matt. just hoping it works ok for me. like the way it looks. should be better than without hopefully. gotta experiment a little to learn....

I'm concerned that the vinyl on top may hold in too much heat on the already small PRO Chassis heat exchangers.

Keep us up to date on how it works out for you..

BTW...Great looking work!

Any more info on where you got it. Maybe just maybe a link. That color is exactly what I need. Thanks!

Call Jordan at Arctic FX, he can gear you up with just the tunnel vinyl pieces pre cut. He can do plain black, black with sponsor decals or whatever combination of graphics you want. I was really happy with what he did for mine, I will post pics after the weekend when I get her installed.

With my whole tunnel wrapped in vinyl i have not noticed a difference in temps. Still gets hot on the trails and still have to run scrachers.

Ya wrapping the whole tunnel including the coolers have not affected the cooling capabilities of the coolers. I use the 1080 Series 3M Matte black and it is great stuff. Still tedious to apply, but air bubbles are very easy to remove. The matte finish doesn't seem to have an issue shedding the snow, even compared to AFX vinyl(yes I have both lol)
Here is a couple pics of proof. Still accumulates, but I am one of the unfortunate waiting for my Skinz Airframes(grrr)
