Tunnel reinforcements???

I know Polaris has them in their accessories book but i was wondering the same thing. I havn't ridden mine at all yet but was looking at either the tunnel braces or some better boards. Any input?

Do the better boards increase the strength? Seems like they would make it weaker, cutting all that material out, hence the need for better bars.

i have 40 miles on my pro 155 and the running boards are bending any suggestions on tunnel reinforcements?

Are you able to post pictures up of where it is bending?? I'd like to see what your referring too so I can watch for it on mine. I haven't been able to ride yet (not enough snow) so I wasn't sure if I needed better boards or not but with what your describing I am thinking something might be needed for strength and snow clearance.
Thanks!

Give it a while and I'm sure rob will make a better bar. Or if he could put fishbones in to his better boards now there's an idea

I'D LIKE TO SEE PIC'S ALSO....

I think he might be referring to the cleats on the running board part of the tunnel. I had a couple of mine kink on mine too, but all I did to straighten them was put a crescent wrench on them and straightened it out. We will see how they hold up to the boot kicking. If they start to become cumbersome, I will have to get some better boards.

If you install the Poo tunnel supports and you decide later to get Better Boards you'll have rivet holes in the side of your tunnel after you remove them for the BB's. Might not matter to most, but I held off putting mine on until I see how the snow evac is on these new boards. Plus, they really don't seem like they would do much after I took them out of the box. I really liked my BB's on my D8, but I can't bring myself to cut the stockers out yet! I don't think the BB's add much strength to the outer bar if any. I had a bad problem with that on the D8, But I think these square aluminum one's will be about as strong as you could get them in that size/ wieght.

Ya I think I'm just gonna ride it a while and see what happens. I posted on another thread that when Polaris brought a proto here last spring it had 1700 'test' miles on it and the boards were straight as an arrow. I've never had BB's so I don't have anything to compare the stockers to, but these seem like they should do a pretty good job.
