I want to do the tunnel on my proclimb.never done it before so was wanting some input from you guys on the best way to do it and what compound to use.
Thanx

The reason I asked is there different ways to do it depending if you want to get the orange peel out or just want it to shine!:face-icon-small-hap

I want it to shine like a mirror.I'm thinking the shinier you get it the less snow that will stick to it.shoulve known to ask the waxer first!

1Fast68 ^^^^^^does a beautiful job for sure. I like to use 2000 or 2500 emory & wet sand "lightly" then either use mothers or simi- chrome polish. The compound also works well but with the wet sanding or I find the polish works just fine. The wet sanding also removes light scratches but once you start then you need to do it all or you will see the difference.

I'd follow Dunatic's how to thread, He does a good job explaining it. I wouldn't waste the time sanding unless there are deep scratches in it. You can buff to a mirror finish using just the wheels. The only thing I do diffrent from Duner's method is start with a yellow or blue wheel instead of white, they cut faster. I also don't spin the wheels faster than 3000-4000 RPM's, You can burn the alum from the heat build up of the wheel. Doesn't really help with snow build up that much it's just something diffrent than all the wraps. Good luck and have fun. Check out my albums for polished pic's, just put pic's in there of my wife's 14 pro.

I know If officially pissed about it too. If it doesn't snow soon I'm traveling. Assuming my sled is fixed by then that is.

Nothin worth getting excited for in the longrange forecast either.hell, we went rock crawlin saturday in your neck of the desert and it was in the 60s.fml

polishing

If you want it to look good, click on the link that 1Fast68 posted. That will polish it the best. Make sure you have a good rpm adjustable polisher like dewalts. I thought it helped really good with snow build up. The snow will just slide right off your tunnel because it cant bond to the oxidized coating. I was riding with my buddy this year & he has an all black powder coated 2014 skidoo xm. And whenever we would stop to take a break, they would both have about the same amount of snow build up, or mine would have a little less.

Definitely follow Duner's way of doing it. I did it that way, and by the time I was done with it, my face was slightly sunburned from the fluorescent lights in my shop reflecting off of it. I had an awesome looking mirror finish come off a 2003 beat up tunnel.
