Tumbler Ridge Conditions

Follow the Boundary road (go through Kelly lake and turn left on Bndy Rd) for 93 km. Turn left on Babcock/CNRL/Peace River Coal road and travel 14 km to Core lodge unloading area. Enjoy. Keep going to Tumbler Ridge to the visitor center (21 km past Babcock turn) for info on other areas

And for anyone using Google Earth here are some routes and markers

Anyone from G.P. heading out towards Tumbler this weekend that wouldn't mind a tag along??

I'm newer to the area and need someone to show me around :D

a little birdy told me that Tumbler has been getting NAILED since sunday afternoon. sunday morning we awoke to a fresh 4". and it was still coming down hard when we left the area. i guess it hasn't stopped. the ojay was closed today due to trucks piled up. :D

Hey Scotford you headed out to Tumbler area this weekend? Has anyone been to the Red Deer? Looks like it is time to go, I will be going somewhere Saturday morn, if anyone is interested or has newest snow report let me know.
:D

The snow was, how should I say, F'in DEEP!!!!!! I Literally sunk up to my armpits when I hopped of my stuck sled, only my armpits and a pine tree in the croch saved me from falling in deeper!! (Tree wells suck!!)

And..Thanks to the Locals for showing us to the staging area, we had an awesome day!! Back at her tomorrow :D

Rode Core lodge area today. Made it out to Terminator and Hill Climb Hill. No tracks out to the Back Meadows or to Hidden Valley yet. LOTS of fresh snow with a bit of a base starting. Very nice riding weather as well. Great time, hopefully heading up again next weekend. :D

For sure it would. I only have a 1.75" x 144" on my Nytro and my friend was with me riding an old Polaris 650 wedge with 1.5" x 136". The only problem you might have is that it is an Arctic Cat.............

went into the red deer on friday, rode all day saturday...ok snow conditions....rained allll effin night!! lost 2ft of snow. did half a winters worth of wood instead sunday. at least there will be a good base...BUT this may lead to some early avy's. took a ride out to the core lodge on the way home. they were getting pounded! 4 inches had fallen between 3-4 pm sunday. looks like they may have gotten some rain but not as bad as us. here are some pcs from the weekend.

We were in at Core lodge Sat afternoon for the first time, really liked the area, snow was decent. Got a kick out of the "DO NOT STOP, BLASTING" signs on the trail in. Heard a siren while we were loading the sleds, didn't think much of it. Went in the shack to change out of our gear and BOOM! I thought a tree fell on the shack LOL.

Frick - that happened to us to when we were loading out. Was on the sled deck with the truck runnin and felt it. Can't imagine what them S. W. folks go thru with what seems like regular earth quakes. If that don't set off potential avy's, nothin will.
