I never ever had any issues with my intake ran like this on my CR500... UNI foam unoiled, prefilter. 45deg elbow silicone.

and yes I ran deep snow

It is hard to argue with that. I might try a foam filter some day.

I found foam under prefilter to work pretty damn well too. With stock 450 sx airbox (bottom cut out)

Funny I found the the opposite.. the cage better... Mine was a much larger cone than the pictures
