true or false lol

i hurd a rumor that boondocker is comming out with a box that changes your settings on its own so your sled will run its best no matter what altitude or tempature , like it does all the tuning on its own ?? i think its bull**** cause its too good to be true! anyone els hear of this?

Yep, I just saw a commercial about it last night on tv, Billy Mays here with your magic BD box

Well the new Power Commander V does have an option like that. It has an Auto Tune feature that comes with an 02 sensor that builds a map according to a set A/F ratio that you set. I know they have worked well on four stroke quad and dirt bike applications but have not heard anything about two strokes.

They would sell pretty fast if they worked. There is no reason they can't do it, I've wondered when someone finally would put enough sensors together to get these things to self adjust.

I have heard the same thing.

Yes, the autotune function on the Power Commander V will do the same thing. You just have to have a target air/fuel ratio and the fuel controller will adjust for it.

Here's a quote from the Power Commander website:

"The NEW Power Commander V and It's Accessories AutoTune for Power Commander V The Auto Tune kit monitors the fuel mixture (by installing the included Wide Band O2 sensor in the exhaust). It then sends this information to the Power Commander V and automatically corrects it while you ride. Each map that we offer has preset Air/Fuel ratio values included that we find to be the best overall settings. This lets you simply plug in the unit and let it do the work. For Harley Davidson models we ever monitor and adjust each cylinder individually for increased precision as on these models required fueling can vary significantly between the front and rear cylinder".

to my understanding it wont work on the turbos the the problem is if the o2 sensor goes out it and you dont notice you will have a burn down and the lead in the race tends to knock the o2 out

The auto tune on the PCV is meant to be a starting point. Use the auto tune (to build the new map), store the map, then fine tune maually from there. The auto tune module would only be used for a little while and then taken off.
