I was dozing off a bit on Tuesday while driving and each time I do this I say I better take it easy. This is a bit of a wake up call. (pun intended)

No offense to the "good" commercial drivers on here, but there isn't an IQ test before you get your license.

I am a commercial driver, and I can definitely tell you no, there is no intelligence requirements to drive a truck in Alberta. there has been talk of a graduated licensing system, but I don't think it has been implemented. you can get your class one, and immediately start hauling whatever weight your company can legally haul. BS in my opinion....

Isn't there a skills test? In MN we have a computer test for commercial stuff and then a test in the type of vehicle you want to be licensed in.

Stupid or not we have all had the case of dozing off while driving, but usually though a town is when there is enough outside action to keep you somewhat alert. If this was in the middle of no where it would be more understandable.

Everyone of us commercial or not as pushed it further then what we really should have when it comes to driving when being tired.
